hahahha. i made a very stupid mistake today.

i went short on EUR/USD. and short on USD/JPY.

Went against USD on one side, and supported USD on the other.

real market conditions are very complicated. we're still in the safe little pool, not out at sea! hahaha happy.gif

anyway, i'm startng to make profit. yay for me.

so far highest gain is 37 pips, short on EUR/USD. (not bad for a 3 day newbie, i'd say)

erm... i usually just put exit targets, but no stop limit, or even if i do, they are very large limits, because i prefer to choose my stop limits manually, as in, if the loss is too large, i'll prefer to hold it a while longer, at least reduce the impact of the loss, instead of just selling automaticly when it hits that target, especially due to sudden bursts...

is this.. okay?

100 pips, as in, all in 1 single trade, or multiple trades?

on the contrary, i have a 300 pip loss on USD/JPY...

so frankly, I'm making a terribly huge loss.

But seeing how I'm already making a huge loss, no point to close the position.

yeah, i was trying to play long term positions, because i doubt i'll be able to micro manage my forex positions...

and i was looking for it to fall, seeing how it's at great highs...

i;m in a rather difficult situation right now...

I shorted usd/jpy (a long time ago), and as of now, I'm at -330 pips..., so I'm making a loss about 1000, but I haven't closed the position...

Question is, should I close it? (or keep hoping like an idiot and wait until it goes to -100 pips)

oh, i can afford to lose alot...

I know it's been bullish, but what was pointing towards the correction?

What indicators would've shown that it was going to resume it's upward trend?

forex is essentially converting currency, holding oen currency, hoping it to appreciate against another, using the constant appreciation and depreciation to earn a profit.

It's like.. stocks, in a sense.
