Wah cfp! nice home u got there for those rats! notworthy.gif

Im just go through the infomation on the very 1st page. Is the rat chow is hard to get here? Actually i know a lab supplier which supplied a rats chow and i forget how much he sells per bags. In UPM also we got sells those rats chow pallets in Veterinary faculty..they sells in kg later i'll go check for u guys biggrin.gif

Rat chow is hard to find.... now Pets Wonderland got bring in LM Farms lab blocks but they look so so... old and is not nutritious enough.

What brand is the rat chow in UPM? Hmmm.... If it is possible for us to get, we don't mind hahah.... would be good for our rats too. Hope to get some good news from you. smile.gif

UPM doesn't use proper lab blocks. They use a brand of stockfeed called Gold Coin.

gold coin? some lab use that kind..but not in our faculty. I forgot the exact name of the rats pellet that we used because we order it in kilos. The gold coin brands pellets are smalls² and easy to break, and we only order it as emergency stock. Our lab use the bigger pallet...later i check for u guys tomorrow. blush.gif

Here are some pictures of my rats. I let them out for a run on my desk which is basically their playground. tongue.gif
Ignore the messy table. Haha. The rats enjoy fooling around with everything on my table.

You can get some mealworms and start to train them to answer their names or answer a universal call hahaha.... You can try what a few zoos do.... when ever they feed the animals, they blow a whistle and the animals will come when they hear the whistle.... so you can make a universal calling like a word or something to associate food.... then they will soon learn to come when you call them ahahh... I have not tried this with my adults coz I got them quite big already.... so I'm starting to do this with one of the babies I have.

Okays, btw, what do you feed the mealworms to keep them alive? I still have to figure a way to overcome my fear of worms. xD

Hahah... mealworms just need a container with some oats inside and once awhile you feed with some vegie... that is all.

Oh I see. That's pretty simple. Haha. Do they feel squishy or slimy when you hold them? Lately I'm beginning to wander near the worms but I still don't have the guts to pick them up.

Mealworms are smooth and wriggly.... at 1st you will feel disgusted and geli.... but later once you get used to it, you won't think about how they feel in your hands anymore haahahh...

mealworms turn into beetles , thus they have a hard carapace. when they get eaten , sometimes can hear the *crunch* crunchy crunch .

Your rat will also be as big as kitten later lah.... Rats can reach 500g... average a rat reaches 250 to 300g in weight.... so you can imagine.

I got plenty of rats, got 5 colours at home hahahah.
