But ah, it's only certain locations that have that kiosk and machine. Too much effort for 5times point.

i applied for Maybank VS about a week before CNY holidays. approved within 5 days. stated want to replace my MBB2 plat in my VS application form. after CNY, received my VS. then a week later, Maybank sent in new MBB2 for my existing expired MBB2 plat.
after 5 years with MBB2 plat, i decided to bye-bye due to not relevant to my spending patterns.

And maybank just decided to remove their VS PPL access, which is a big turn off for me. Unless u spend up to approx 1.8k worth of petrol/groceries per month to fully achieve the 88 rebate or spend 50k pa, don't think this card is worth the RM500 annual fee.

MBB offers me to upgrade from gold to plat after I enquiry about it and I can seey plat cards inside my m2u. So when i pick up the plat card later on, do i need to surrender the gold card to them?

Of course, you will need to return back to them and they deactivate it before activating your Plat.

My balance, donations and EPP with transfer to the new card right?

Balance and EPP yes because it is related to its own banking stufff but good to check with them again.
Donations? Did you mean auto-debit donation? No, it will not. You will need to advise merchant again as there is a change in your CC no.

Not necessarily. The branch I collected my platinum did not request the old one to be returned. They just told me to cut the card to be safe. About a week after collecting my platinum, the gold was deactivated.

if i pay my insurance (AIA & Alliance) using Visa Platinum card , will i still get 1X Treatpoint or totally no Treatpoint ?

I understand AMEX did give 2X, but too bad AIA & Alliance not accept AMEX.


Oh ya, 2nd question, i just got my card today, as i know this card is Free for Life membership. Beside activate , can i leave the card without using it after activation ? or i need to swipe at least few time to entitle Free for life membership ?

yes, you understand it correctly.

Well, returned also means they will cut it off lo in front of you. Not like they will keep it. Once they cut it, they will deactivate your Gold and instantly you can start using the Plat. Saves all the trouble. I prefer this way.

You still can use AMEX 5% + 5tp dining over the weekend

Does upgrading to plat give any extra benefit? Or can uprade to plat make you eligble for another bump in credit limit?
