China lotsa fake North face..I saw this youtube review on this fake duck feather rather than the real down feather North Face..apparently lotsa Canadian using it too bcos Amerika too pricey liao biggrin.gif

I think buying from those established witer shops like Universal travellers, Goin Places & winter time should be good kua hmm.gif Haha been doing lotsa research on this down jacket rather than Korean attractions blush.gif

BTW, huiyin, Yeah now I also taking short Korean lesson online from the site given by Seng007. rclxms.gif From what I read here, most of Korean souvenirs & general merchantiels are expensive. except their cosmetic.. I am wondering whether their shoe cheap or not? Thinking getting one there. blush.gif

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Aug 17 2010, 09:31 AM)
I bought one branded but ahem Northface down jacket <RM130 in Beijing Siew Sui Je street pasar for my brother and he said the jacket very warm. Don't know it's real down or mixed one because you can never know unless you tear open it.

Cosmetics are super cheap X) like the price over here is doubled the price in Korea. Shoes..it depends i guess.. sometimes when they have sale / promotion shoes can get quite cheap. Just maybe 2 months ago i bought a pair of converse for like..rm60. Also depends on your luck i guess X) that is if you're talking about sports shoes la..

if talking about girls shoes.. there are plenty everywhere.. prices usually start from 8000won / 10,000won - 30,000won+.. for flats and heels..

Mid Dec. Will be there for 6D6N (bcos flight back via AA -on the 5th nite till nxt Morning..haha)

Backpacking style-Yes. So motels & guesthouse is OK.

Thinking of going to
1) DMZ (main priority),
2) All the royal Joseon ancient palaces,
3) all the remaining 3 Seoul gates (Too bad the 4th western gate (Soedaemun) bombed by Japanese in Early 1900 liao & the 3rd recently opened 3rd Northern gate need 1 week advance permit??- hmnnn inside one of the palace compound wor) ,
4) Joseon kings & queens graveyard
5) abit of shopping at dongdaemun, isadong & probably COEX mall as well
6) Visit nearby ski resort but not skiing - dunno they allow ppl entry without skiing or not? (haha)
7) Nami Island - dunno what to do there also - snap photos of poplar trees?
8) Probably stay 1 nite at Incheon upon arrival?

Well these are my preliminary planning..still subject to change..For me I'm more towards nature, cultural & history thigies rather than shopping & makaning..haha

Sport shoes can be quite cheap leh. I once saw Aasics shoes for about RM 200, then I came back checked the price here, it was RM 600+. Almost fainted because I did not buy that time. :S

Yea, cosmetic very good as souvenirs leh. Sometimes when there's promo, Etude masks were selling for only 500 won each!

What do u reckon the temp between 19th to 22nd November in seoul ? any rain  at this time
*
The weather around this time usually around 10 degree C in the morning. However, the weather might vary due to some Siberian wind or what. Sometimes it can drop to around 0 suddenly. Make sure u watch weather forecast everyday before u go out to make sure u have the proper clothing. Rain would be minimal during this time since it's Fall already.

may i know is there any place selling the boot which suitable to use when skiing?
*
Errr.. the last time I skiied we rented the ski and boots together. It's a special kind of boots where u snap onto the skis. So I guess there's no nid for u to buy a pair of ski boots?

Added on August 17, 2010, 3:14 pmAt 1st I have the same idea too but after checking my relatives, brother, & also friends, most of them having those Autumn/spring jacket that only can sustained 5C & above & anything below 5C..the down jacket...they don't have or kept at their oversea house liao..haizzz..Furthermore, dun really wanna borrow..later fren complain sweat very smelly blush.gif biggrin.gif

Actaully as what mentioned by huiyin, if dunwan down jacket, can use the normal fleece jacket (Wth syntetic fether or polyyester but you need lotsa layer of clothing..atleast 3 layers i.e 1st alyer long john, 2nd layer sweater & 3rd layer the jacket (Either fleece or syntectic) no need down liao like dat biggrin.gif

But you must remember, the quoted Dec temperature at Seoul during mid Dec of -3 to 3 C is just a guidance, I was told temeprature during Dec can be as low as -20C!!
