Need to do abit of research which I hv yet to do..You can goto the pinned currency xchange thread & read the last few posting by me by comparing money changer rate, Bank negara rate & google for Seoul money changer rate..Of the diff between the market (Bank negara) & money chnager is great, than, changing to USD 1st probbaly is good but if the money changer & market rate is not huge, changing here will reduce the hassle bcos AA flight to Seoul all reaching late at nite!
QUOTE(childish_gal81 @ Aug 6 2010, 11:12 AM)
Hello,

Should we change money to USD first then only change to WON?
or straight change to KRW here?

Anyone having expereince or any contact organisingday/ 1.2 day trip to 38 DMZ zone?

Too bad we can't cross over to PyongYang from Seoul..otherwise, it will be much adventurous to North Korea rather than South Korea

Actually, it is expensive after thinking of the street food can cost an avg 7000won or RM20/bowl!! comparing this to avg HK wanton noodle at HK$15 or ~RM7

However hotels can be as low as US$38 which is a relief..phewwss & nice hearing that hostel can get as low as US$30 for private ensuite.

OK tnx, earlier forumers was quoting 6000-7000won for a simple st food..pheww.. blush.gif biggrin.gif
QUOTE(Seng007 @ Aug 10 2010, 11:43 AM)

Street food does not cost 7000 won. Example:  A plate of rice cake (Dokbokki) will cost 1,000 won (RM3). With additional fish cakes + eggs  = 2,000 (RM6) won. 3 fried squids at 1,000 won (RM6).

I think all those Asian MRT cards are worth it..I used the Taipei easycard wth refundable deposit (not sure this T-card) & it was so convenient wth the discounted fare thrown-in. All-in, I only spent ~ RM60/pax on most of my 6D5N stays in Taipei last yr wth their easycard system..can even used to take their train service to Keelung & also their bus services...Worth every $$...no need taxi haha

Added on August 10, 2010, 2:25 pmI read, the train servicing Incheon & Gimpo to be opened end of this year..Hope is early Dec so can go direct from airport to the city hmm.gif Confirmed Dec 2010 hmm.gif
QUOTE(Seng007 @ Aug 10 2010, 02:22 PM)
For the card, u may get it in any subway station. It's at the ticketing office.

Limo bus is the most convenient but more expensive. Limo bus to Seoul city costs around 7000 won only. For cheapest, go for subway but it will take u quite some time to reach city.

Cheju is like flying from Kl to Batam island (~ 450km South of Seoul) if the cheapest non promo return flight ticket to Singapore from KL is ~ RM300+, so expecting the same going from Seou; to cheju lor..& Busan also not near from Seoul;. it's about 300km on the other side of peninsular.
QUOTE(Derwyn @ Aug 11 2010, 10:07 PM)
Actually why is Jeju so expensive??....what if i go there by ferry either from Busan or Mokpo? anyone tried that before?

The museums and other attractions at Jeju has very expensive admission fee? Thx =D
