I had a scheduled Unifi installation on 8th Aug for 11am.

At 8am on the same day, I got a SMS (not call) informing that the installation is postponed, requesting me to call to their call center to follow up.
When I did, they mentioned to me that there is a 'major equipment' breakdown and it's affecting the Unifi installation at landed house in entire country.
And they estimated that they could only start installation on 24th Aug, which I find it absurd.

1. What kind of equipment that could disrupt installation for entire country?
(answer from call center: not sure sir)

2. Why did it take so long to recover?
(answer from call center: not sure sir)

3. How will the chaotic rearrangement be like? Until now they have not called me for rescheduling. I would assume if 8th Aug was the first day of service disruption, I would be sort of in the front part of queue.
(answer from call center: our team will call you again)

Funny thing is, 2 days before my originally planed installation on 8 Aug, they called me to confirm the date and 'reminded' me if I cancelled my appointment on the same day, I was subject to penalty of RM100 for not giving prior notice.
Now I asked them back, since now it's YOU that cancelled my appointment on the same day, and delayed for 2 weeks, what penalty are YOU subject to now?
(answer from call center: sorry we're not sure)

I want to know if there's any other victims like me here that didnt get Unifi installation done between 8-23 Aug?

TM is in the midst of resolving the issue. At the moment, we have temporarily deferred all new service installation and relocation activities from 8 August until 15 August. We expect to resume the activities in phases starting 24 August onwards. Our appointment centre will be in touch with you in phases starting 17 August onwards to reschedule your new appointment date.

Bro be sure to request for rebate after installation is done later. Though no promise of the rebate scheme and exact amount, customer service asked me to submit a appeal for rebate due to the postponement of installation.

Same I called tmnut last Nite, give me same answer too.
But the guy told me by next week or following week, I rather take it as 2 weeks.

Their lousy technical issue still can't fix by 2 weeks, now drag another 2 weeks!!!!

Well, 1 month for waiting just to install Unifi. Thx u tmnut for the great service!

I'll definitely push for rebate. if the appointment is set, if we were to cancel it within 3 days, they easily impose a penalty for us. but when it comes to them doing this, we the end users have to wait like fools. push for the rebates, I'd shout if I had to. waiting for them (despite whether it's their fault or not), with no responsibility to call me back and explain, this alone explains how shitty TM actually are.

Exactly same case like you bro. My schedule was put on hold since 8 Aug till now.

Anyway they told me they discovered this issue on 1st Aug.

I asked why then made scheduling for me on 8th Aug, thus I arranged relevant people (CCTV and home alarm vendor) to come on same day to do subsequent works.

TM then told me there are different teams that did scheduling and installation, thus people who did scheduling will 'anyhow just schedule like usual' despite there is an obvious technical disruption.

How very genius! vmad.gif

yes, got a call from them. just finished talking around 1 hour +. Issue regarding exchange hub/ ibu sawat (terms used to me) nationwide, even told me which places are affected. New applicants are affected. Period 3 months with expectation to resolve in October (dint mention any date and as usual no promises). This is what happens when one company monopolizes. Can't handle the shit, ask customers to wait. Worst policy ever. If I had other options, I wouldn't even go for whatever TM have to offer seriously.

I'm thinking to write this issue to SKMM. They need to be taught a lesson. One thing can I say to TM now in which I think they deserve it well , f**k you.

Thanks for the update, i have wrote a few complaints to CFM about the TMNUT service previously and ended up with a lot of stupid excuses with no promises as expected. i am truly agree with you if there is another option i wouldn't go for TM. If you feel that to write to SKMM can screw them, i think you may give it a try. i believe there are lots of people feel the same to their shiety service.

will do. I'm considered as lucky as my area is covered by Streamyx 4Mbps so as for now, I'll settle for the Streamyx and once the issues with Unifi is resolved then I'll upgrade to Unifi. I've known some friends whose area is only covered by Unifi, have to wait for only-God-knows-when.. GG..

But on a different note, it's better for em to sort out all problems first than accepting new users. Complaints would be plentiful if lets say they accepted us and we faced connection issues later on. But still this kind of thing isn't well suited to the biggest ISP in Malaysia. Anyone here has any insight on what are they actually facing till almost whole Malaysia are affected? hmm.gif

My installation was completed last 2 weeks as well.

Logged a complaint to MCMC regarding the cancellation and delay of installation. Almost immediately, there is somebody from TM that called me to apologize about it.

What did I get in the end? RM200 rebate from my first bill. This amount is nothing compared to my time lost, but better than nothing.

Take away: I will utilize MCMC complaint service more often lol

The Shit TM-NUT is promised me the port available and will call me for installation appointment since Sept15, after that, called me and informed because of the alcatel UNO issue, the installation have to postpone to later. Now, they inform me the PORT IS FULL. This is totally crap..!

that's sad and unfair. well now since you have reported to MCMC, just have to wait for feedbacks and also you can always bug them to somehow force them in getting you a new port. your case is a clear example on how a company shouldn't be given the power to monopolize. good luck.
