Re-activate my hotlink number, Expired number

hi hotlink, i'm a student and am currently studying oversea. I was caught up with my school work and only found out that my number has expired just 10 days ago. i'm not sure if the grace period still exist, but i cant access my number anymore. this is a number which i have been using for 15 years and it is very meaningful for me, i will really appreciate if you can help me out with this. Many thanks in advanced.

If not yet recycle most probably you have to subscribe to a postpaid plan to maintain your number. If recycled you cant get it back except buy back the number

Essentially, maxis wants me to sign up for a 188*24 months postpaid plan in order to get back the number. which honestly is not suitable for me, as i will still be in oversea for the coming two years. FYI, my number has expired for 10 days when i first contacted maxis for the reactivation. after multiple conversations with the agents, i guess that's the best that they can do for me because they cant overwrite the policy and the system. well, sad case for me.

they wont help at all
been maxis customer for more than 10 years,
every month they forced me to top up, until my balance accumulated more than rm180, then i miss the top up date by half day (actually no late by technical cause they cutoff me by 12.00am sharp), boom
my whole account, no., & balance gone, and they just slap template response on all sort of my contact to them. shittiest telco.
