A bit off topic, but where can I buy the recommended soldering kit? RM150 seems affordable
can always go hunting in jalan pasar. went there to get me a new de-soldering pump, a bunch of breadboard pins, a bunch of female crimps, sponge, a tub of flux. all for rm28 only
I like linears only when playing rhythm games like O2Jam or osu!mania. Lol. I feel that the most important thing when it comes to linears is the chassis of the keyboard. Some produces really nice sound, and feel.
I particularly like the SteelSeries Apex M800. The switches are light like a feather, but is actually very nice to type on. Not to mention the godly LED. I played minesweeper and snake games on it lol.
Ya, 3 of them can last 10 years, but not the LED. LED 1 year is expected, last 2 years is fortunate, last 3 years you must pray because too lucky. All listed except tesoro are good as long as they adapt Cherry MX switches. If you only want for typing, then go for KB Paradise V60, fully utilise for typing.
If you can accept non-backlit, I will recommend you Filco Majestouch 2 TKL which still within your budget.
Has build quality gone down that much?
I'm still using a Ducky Shine 2 I bought in 2012. I've used it every day for 3+ years, through some really heavy gaming sessions and I haven't lost a single LED on this thing.
Really disappointed to hear that the newer mech kb's suffer LED failure after just 1-2 years.

i am actually not really liking the feels on these black switches. or maybe it was the low profile key caps on that WYSE keyboard. will try it on other types of keycaps.

Low profile keycaps are sometimes fun, but too low is very annoying and hard to type on IMO. I tend to hit the keys hard, pure satisfaction.
