Hi All,

I've been experiencing really slow download from IOS app store through Unifi since yesterday I think. Any one else? Is the problem back?

Thanks.

Seems like Level 3 DNS is the best for now, tried OpenDNS and Google DNS, same result but a bit better than TM DNS, Level 3 on the other hand work flawlessly nod.gif

Level 3's DNS server is located in the USA, so by using Level 3's DNS, Apple's CDN sees us as from USA and routes us to a server in the USA.

When we use TM, Google, OpenDNS etc, it will see us as from Malaysia and routes us to the nearest CDN server which I believe is in Malaysia itself. Somehow TM's link to this server is having issues which causes the slow download speed from Apple's CDN server located locally.

Yes VPN is a better solution as it will definitely route the traffic through their server's connection. Changing DNS is still a hit/miss thing, sometimes the CDN still routes back the problematic server.

Hi, can you teach me how to change the DNS?
1. You using Dynamic or Static PPPoE?
2. Primary DNS change 209.244.0.3?

Thanks guys for the solution.

The easiest way is to install OperaVPN app in your phone.

1. Install OperaVPN app in your phone (using 4G/LTE connection first)
2. Connect back to your WIFI.
3. Launch OperaVPN, follow the on screen instructions.
4. Recommended to choose United States as the region.
5. Go back to AppStore and try updating it.
6. Turn off OperaVPN once you have done updating.

Hope the above helps.
