QUOTE(AthrunIJ @ Aug 5 2015, 10:09 PM) If you are tech savvy then get the one without DOS and get an *ahem* window and install should save you a couple of bucks. If you are not then get the one pre install with windows. Less hassle. But get ori then get free upgrade to window 10 Then i think i should get the one with ori w8.1 QUOTE(myway1985 @ Aug 5 2015, 10:54 PM) Win 8.1 bro.. get wif win better thanks for the tip!

It can handle heat well.

Well office work word excel and stuff, but of and on some graphics design work with some rendering. I know the 8GB Ram will be good but with my current notebook with SSD, I can't really imagine booting up with HDD anymore..

Well, with SSD opening big files of excel and stuff will be faster while the larger capacity RAM would be better for the renderings. Why not both.

Hi guys,
I'm thinking about getting the Vostro 5480 i7, and upgrading the ram to 8gb. The weight and the pricing is good for me haha. Any opinions on how the performance and battery life? And also does it tend to heat up?
I'll use it mostly for browsing, videos, MS Word, Excel, Visio, occasional Matlab, maybe AutoCAD.
Thanks!
