If you are tech savvy then get the one without DOS and get an *ahem* window and install should save you a couple of bucks.

If you are not then get the one pre install with windows. Less hassle.

But get ori then get free upgrade to window 10
*
Then i think i should get the one with ori w8.1 nod.gif

Seems a good choice. Please upgrade the RAM to 8Gb.
Cons seems to be the speaker volume is soft. It can handle heat well.

Kindly check MSI PE60 2QE

- Better Display Screen
- better GPU 960M
- Same chassis as GE62 - Check my post before
- More Ram, 8Gb
- Similar price

May i know what program would you be using? Because SSD can wait if and only if you are opening large files while RAM is essential for heavy programs.

Well office work word excel and stuff, but of and on some graphics design work with some rendering. I know the 8GB Ram will be good but with my current notebook with SSD, I can't really imagine booting up with HDD anymore.. tongue.gif

Well, with SSD opening big files of excel and stuff will be faster while the larger capacity RAM would be better for the renderings.

Why not both. hmm.gif tongue.gif

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about getting the Vostro 5480 i7, and upgrading the ram to 8gb. The weight and the pricing is good for me haha.
Any opinions on how the performance and battery life? And also does it tend to heat up?

I'll use it mostly for browsing, videos, MS Word, Excel, Visio, occasional Matlab, maybe AutoCAD.

Thanks!

So far, from what i gather. The heat management is ok. Max temp is around 80 celcius which is good.
