when i was a student... i'm working part time on weekend and holidays or even sem break  laugh.gif  those time.. really hard... kinda jelous see people hv lots of free time to spare.. while i was working during weekend. but really, custom rig is really save money a lot  brows.gif

anyway.. i wonder if any notebook these days is equip with xeon processor....  last i saw last time was MSI notebook.. it was 5 years ago sweat.gif
*
Yeah. I have to work hard in order to get some extra pocket money for gaming stuff. And it's very true that custom rig is far more cheaper. But still I'm saving up for the beast. Hopefully I would be able to buy one by next year.

Yeah, hope to have at least 500gb SSD in my future rig. Whenever you started to opt for SSD, there is no going back hahaha the reading speed and durability are very OP! rclxm9.gif

Ya. R7 should be enough for him. That's why I hesitate if the GT920M enough for him. But don't know if he plays Assassin's Creed Unity. If he does, R7 sure not powerful enough for him also. biggrin.gif

hallo sifus im looking fwd to buy a new laptop

Preffered Brand : Anything...dont mind
Budget : round 2.5k-3k
Usage : Game (FIFA, Bioshock, Farcry4) + Microsoft Office stuff
Others : good heat system + endurance
And i also found one website name tech hypermart selling msi laptop with this spec for RM2999

- MSI CX61 2QF-1496MY 15.6" Classic Laptop/ Notebook
- Intel® Core™ i7-4712MQ-2.3GHz
- 1TB SATA HDD, 8GB DDR3 RAM
- NVIDIA® GeForce GT940M
- Windows® 8.1

is it good enough to be use for me?
*
If you go for this model, GT940M enables you to play FIFA with ultra settings, bioshcok with high settings and Far Cry 4 with middle settings since it is a mid-range graphic card. You can look up for Dell 7447 with GTX850M (upper mid-range graphic card). You can get it at around rm3k without OS. icon_idea.gif

Screen size: 15-17

Check out the following models.
1. Dell Inspiron 15 3543-20452G-W8 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook (i5-5200U, 500GB, 4GB, NV 820M, W8) RM2,122/-
2. HP Pavilion 15 15-ab063TX Laptop/ Notebook (i5-5200U, 1TB, 4GB, NV 940M, W8.1) RM2,118/-

You can ask for an SSD and RAM upgrade. The price is supposed to be less than RM2.7k. icon_rolleyes.gif

Prefer brand : Asus zenbook X305, Dell, Toshiba
Budget : RM2500
Preference : Less than 14 inch. Ultrabook importantly lightest, better webcam, better endurance as well. Not for gaming.
*
Asus Zenbook X305 should be good enough. Since it is just 13.3" with QHD+ display and weighs only 1.2kg. And you can get it at the price around rm2.4k. Although the M-5Y10 processor is slightly behind the core i5-4200U, it should be good enough for your usage already. SSD sumore. brows.gif

Is there big difference between processor Core M-5Y10 and M-5Y71?
*
Usually people will consider M-5Y71 because of the significant higher turbo and GPU clock speed. Other than that, the differences are not so significant. But overall, M-5Y71 still has a better performance that M-5Y10 does. I stand corrected though. Hope pandera999 kor kor will give you better explanation on this. brows.gif

hey guys. need a new recommendation as I haven't been updating myself with the new models on the market nowadays. biggrin.gif

1. Preferred Brand: any
2. Budget : 1k-2k max
3. Usage : normal usage for my wife)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 13" as it is for my wife. easier for her to bring it to work. long battery life preferred as well. no need for high tech good gc so much as she'll use only for office work and light surfing. she doesn't do gaming at all. biggrin.gif

thanks!
*
Check out this model. 1.75kg and I suppose the battery can last for about 6 hours. biggrin.gif
