With your current budget, do consider a desktop. But if you still insist on buying a laptop. You may consider this.
Dell Precision M4800-I78116G50G2G-W87 Mobile Workstation 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook (i7-4810MQ, 500GB, 16GB, NV K1100M, W8.1P/W7P)
You can upgrade the HDD to SSD with 11k budget. thumbup.gif
*
been tried 4800, too heavy to carry around.

i would suggest m3800 instead, just around 1k more than 4800(same spec)

** rmb add on NBD warranty to hassle free
HP need carry in although theirs workstation look great **

Its not hard to slot in M2, the only harder part is remove the back panel.
Do read the service manual for HOW TO REMOVE BACK PANEL.

My advice if you looking at Acer Nitro series to wait a while because ==> http://www.ultrabookreview.com/8337-acer-skylake-laptops/

But do at your own risk as Ringgit is doh.gif

I saw Dell 7559 is using DDR3L, as skylake is compatible with DDR4.

Does the machine is upgradeable to DDR4 in future?

Its the cache drive, mean for laptop not using SSD, the frequent using file window will placing to those cache drive so operating more smoother.

But dont compare to pure SSD machine.

Hi Sifus,

Considering a birthday gift for myself next month, would like to hear your inputs  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

1. Preferred Brand : Any brands except Acer and Asus
2. Budget : RM 8k,  expandable depending on the offers on hand but will not hit 10k  cry.gif .
3. Usage : Other than daily business work, it is mainly for gaming @ 1080p for most games as well as some minor photo-shop and video editing.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : If possible, I really want a 15" but a 17" would still be considered as I travel frequently.
I am technically considering to get the illegear D5 or S5, but would like to see my options in the market.

Regards,

Mr Fish

Hi Sifus,

I would like to ask about Dell XPS13-5082SG and Asus UX305FA-FC071.
What is the major difference between these 2 ultrabooks ?
And which ultrabook is more worth in term of cost and overall hardware specifications ?
*
I would said avoid Asus compare to dell,

But XPS going had new line up for skylake, hold on for it smile.gif

Well the Z5 design is utterly gorgeous and better than 7559. But of course i dont really mind the cosmetic if given the different of prices being quite huge in gap. Since i can get the 7559 with freedos option, its way cheaper than the z5. But again I wouldn't mind getting the Z5 if there is something that can convince me that its the right purchase over the 7559.

Help me sifusss  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  rclxub.gif
