This would be my third year of using One card. I requested for a waiver last month but the cs officer said there was no promotion for af waiver at that moment (Before making the call, I have 'zerolised' my account and stopped using the card after my second anniversary). So I requested to cancel the card and the cs officer submitted the cancellation report to the related department, citing af as the reason. He told me that I would be getting a call from their retention department if there was an af waiver from them . Otherwise, my card would be cancelled without the retention call. Less than one week time, on 7 Sept, I received the call from the retention department. He offered me af waiver for my third year + af waivers for another 3 more years. I accepted and he said I need to use my card at least once within 30 days.
Timeline
1/9 - AF appeared on online unbilled statement.
1/9 - Called to request for AF waiver but failed. Request for cancellation.
7/9 - Received call from retention department. Offered and accepted current year + another 3 years AF waivers. Need to swipe once within 30 days.
8/9 - Swiped for a petrol transaction.
10/9 - AF waiver appeared on online unbilled statement.
Did you get a black and white stated your AF will be waived for another 3 extra year? My case was they promise via words, but didn't keep it. The promised to waive 3 year for me. Yes, the first year it was waived, but the second year they charged me. Excuse is they don't know there is such offer for 3 year AF waiver in my account. Basically there is no consistency la!
** how I solved it? I actually write down the name of the person who offer me waiver one year ago. Call here and there , write in so many letter, then only they admit is their mistake and waive for me. It is too hassle. Hence no more UOB for me unless really good offer
