yes, inside at the cashier no problem. because you can double confirm the terminal before they proceed with the payment. i caught few bhp trying to swipe using affin terminal. that's why i said by right all bhp automated fuel dispenser should use uob terminal because there's nothing you can do about it although uob on the other hand advertising about smart$ at all bhp.

How u confirm uob terminal before they proceed with the payment?

the terminal is different. you will know how after using this card and see them swipe every time.

luckily the stuff is well trained...
i don't even pay attention on what machine she is using.

yes, staff training is very important. but most of the time it's not because of the staff problem but due to the fact that they have target to hit for both. since usually the dispenser is using uob already, so they will try to use affin for those who pay inside. if you catch them trying to swipe your uob cc using affin terminal, they will give you reason like uob terminal is down, so they will use affin instead. if you didn't catch them, you don't even know you already lost your smart$.

the same goes to other merchants too. for eg. gsc cinema got uob, hlb,...

What can u do even the staff lie to u say the terminal is down? Lol

many gave this reason especially during the last 1-2 days of the month as they need to hit the target badly. of course, it's not always because some months they already hit the target.

what i will do?
1) boycott that particular bhp station
2) avoid pump there during end month especially last 1-2 days
3) pay at the dispenser

the reason i know they were lying with the "uob terminal down" excuse because i tried to pay at the dispenser right after and it went through smoothly.
