You can do outside but lose warranty for brakes.

I already stock up on factory TRW pads. Haha, take from people who upgraded their brake pads. I just need to fit it in once mine finishes.

Hi sifu, I just got a new preve turbo and I am currently facing some issue. When I park my car where gear in P sometimes I can't shift my gear out of P and need to restart car 2 times then OK. Currently its happen 7 out of 10 times I park my car. Any sifu hare face the same issue. BTW I will send the car to service centre
*
Probably your brake switch has a problem. The gear lock needs to sense the brakes being pressed to release.

QUOTE(umadbro @ Sep 2 2015, 10:21 AM)
mine is a cvt. even if i pedal to metal, it would do much because the car still slow bai.
anyway, i will try on sand. But i feel worried becoz i seen other preve cars, even driving over puddles of water, the esc light came on. mine doesnt.
*
I never triggered ESC light by ESC itself. If you do, you're violently throwing the car.

I seen the ESC light due to traction control, easily triggered at wet car parks.

Not sure what is a cable tie zip. But it appears that the stock rubber hose to the Turbo engine is not replaced with something else. I was told by the mechanic at COE that some owners had replaced the stock (black-coloured) rubber hose to the Turbo engine with a combination of blue-coloured hose and steel hose.
*
I can guess that your inlet hose is replaced. That hose needs replacement once in a while because of exposure to blow-by gasses that rejoins intake for emission purpose. If you do not care about emission and want reliability, then use oil catch tank. Luckily you have replaced the intake hose soon enough. If it has broken, sand particles can erode your turbo fin plus wear engine parts.

However I cannot agree to the technician's argument that replacing the intake hose will cause more leakages due to being more direct.

Hose needs replacement once in a while? Hopefully not too frequent. That thing won't be too cheap judging from the size of it.
*
Because rubber hates to come in contact with oil.

It costs around RM70 if not mistaken.

Not too bad if it is below RM100. Unlike the silver plastic piece on the gear knob which I read costs RM90 per piece (which looks more like RM5)
*
Interior panels can be very expensive. Like the glossy faux wood panel, one piece alone can cost near a thousand, so don't break it. One of the reason for the price is because these part number actually include the whole assembly, although you needed only one plastic part.

Another one would be the turbo, break any plastic part, you actually have to pay the price of the entire turbo assembly. There are no separate part number for each. Hence the cost difference when you maintain one car in official SC vs outside workshop that source from kedai potong.

The price includes the dashboard assembly, but what you need is only the plastic cover.

Just recalled another part. For CFE/Premium/Turbo, you see there is a shift lock release cover? If you lose that cover, you have to purchase the whole gear lever assembly. Oh well.

I recall that it is around RM120 on maintenance service. I think the official schedule has air conditioning maintenance every 30000KM.

Those interior panels such as the glossy wood panels. They won't break just like that unless someone breaks it on purpose or accident, or the panels fall of by itself. Not sure a bout the plastic part of the Turbo, the exact location of it. Is it the gear knob?
*
It is a part in the engine bay. The EBC.

The interior panels can break when dismantled.

Recently, there are people who has problem with the fuse box, hence the compressor clutch don't work at all. If yours is totally not working, this might be the problem.

Preve CFE it is then.
Well, to be safe then, might as well ask the SA to install it. Since the showroom also has a service centre, will go back to them for service and such.

The reverse camera will be auto right? As in when I engage reverse, then it will automatically show the camera. Would suck if it is the kind where you need to switch it on the player to see whats behind.

Thanks mushy.
*
Yes, automatically shown when you engage reverse gear.

I see..then its just my sc no longer stocking up syntium 3000..Anyway 5000 is only rm30 extra..I also see my sc offering shell engine oil..Anyone has experince using shell eo on preve?
*
Yeah I used it twice. If nothing bad happens means it's good right? laugh.gif

I can't feel the difference between engine oils honestly. I track fuel consumption on fuelly too, it is all the same, even if I use Syntium 1000 15W-50.

yo guise, wanna ask. my preve righthand frontlamp blew once in two month, is it normal?

now both my front lamp gone..had to rely on foglight during low light driving before change bulb.

since both my frontlamp gone..any suggestion on bulb that can last long? was thinking for led lamp ... or go for hid ? (this is the name right?)
*
Mine blown once, few months after owning the car.

Firstly I sent to the SC and I found that they don't even know how to install it properly. It lit, but focused wrongly. Looking at how some SC technicians are inexperienced in handling and installing bulb, I bought the bulbs and installed myself. Tough to reach it, especially for first experience, but I manage to. More than 1 year, no more burnt bulbs.

1. Must not contaminate bulb with fingers
2. The bulb must be placed in specific position as indicated inside the headlamp, not just chuck straight inside.

Wow bro.. Looks really nice. Feels soft? How long did it take to install it?

I am also wondering how well it handles the heat from the afternoon sun. (Super hot? Will it crack/discolour over time).

It's a shame the CFE doesn't come with leather as stock. Even the trusty old Waja came with the option of leather seats.

Which shop in Melaka bro? Malim? Batu berendam?
*
Got, a hundred units of Preve out there has stock leather seats. haha
