That's just a re-spec. Great, awesome shots though!

I was told the newest batch of the re-spec Golf Highline has the U-shaped led drls, compared to the first batch with xenons but only normal bulb drl. Can anyone confirm...? Cus I've been to 2 dealers and can't see the said batch/variant.

Taking their sweet time it seems. Usually my buddy would inform me when he received invites for training/briefing of a new model/variant; nothing so far.

Well considering some batt brands like Century offer warranty too, there's absolutely no reason to get batteries from SC imo. Not to mention the labor they charge for battery change is bordering to ridiculous.

Not a Jetta but I roughly get around 900+-km per tank, my daily routine mostly consists of 40% urban drive only though. Probably more if I stuck to the 16" wheels with low rolling resistance tyres too.

Well since they would be subjected to around 25%? tax, plus gst, plus yadda yadda yadda and the usual dealership markup, of course prices of parts from the dealerships are tad high. I mostly order small items myself whenever possible, and so far none lekat at kastam yet..

Yea EEV. It'll be odd if it doesn't get that certification when others left and right does. And apparently at that price range seems like VPCM is aiming squarely at the Civic. Although even the low spec Trendline would have a 1.4 TSI.

I saw the spec sheet and it says 110kw engines for all specs. That would mean the single turbo 150hp motor currently in the re-spec Golf afaik.

Now if only they would throw in say, a year, or two of free service? Would be sweet.

Yea I reckon the prev owners say, of the Jetta would feel. They basically bought a Highline-priced car at a Comfortline-specs. Not counting the 88k clearance units, of course. Same with the current batches of Polo - much cheaper at 76k, with slightly better specs.
But then I think thats why they introduce the new models (Vento, Jetta) with variants. Now owners can opt for the variant they can afford/specs they want, instead of stuck with 1 spec then having a better specced car released afterward, like what has been happening for years now? |

QUOTE(manx @ Sep 21 2016, 11:22 AM) I feel you bro... I have the same feeling. Will never ever purchase a VW in the future (just my own opinion though). The biggest mistake VW did was to sell Jetta at 88k while previous owners paid almost 2x few years back. I've mixed feelings about this. On one side, the buyers of the clearance Jettas mostly know a new model is coming just a few months forward; thus a bargain for them. Who would buy an outgoing model for the full price? But on the other hand, those that paid 120k+ for a Jetta right before their clearance exercise would feel the pain the most - not only they have to pay a whole lot more for the same thing, the resale value of their car is lowered substantially, too. Pretty much sucks.. but they should've launched the new Jetta around early this year anyway, so they just had to do the clearance, I reckon.. |

VGM announced some time back they're gonna use a torque-specific badging for new models sooooo.... Hmmm feeling a bit left out on my 1.4 Mk7 lol.
And yea thats 330G..? The same units in the current Vento and Polo 1.6 |

Well since there's no actual timeframe when the mk8 would be launched it would be hard to say? The mk7 was launched at the end of 2012, and iirc we got it pretty quick in around 6 months after that? I think VW won't rush the mk8 anyway, seeing they're still churning mk7 variants now, and with the current dieselgate and all they most probably would slow down on new models and such. Don't quote me on this though, lol.
But we'll most probably get a re-specced GTI and R first, probably early next year. Not counting the B8 Passat and mk2 Tiguan too, and perhaps the facelift Rocco..? I seriously hope they'll introduce a more extensive line up here in Malaysia like in Singapore, seeing Porsche Holdings in in charge now. |

I don't get it - specs flying around are 150hp/250nm whereas the badging is 280 mmmm. Have a load of other questions too - and most SCs I meet are well, mostly... useless. I quote "Enjin sama lg macam dulu 1.4T" ooooo okay.

Hierarchy badging, huh? Well.. I suppose it makes sense. Although I still prefer the plain TSI badging.
