My stock battery (Varta EFB) lasted about a year, replacement (Moll EFB) just around 6 months. I got fed up and bought a Varta AGM, still good, 1 year and half, and going.

Can you opt for the Vento instead? It got 5 years free service promo.. while the Polo doesn't. I do however understand the appeal of hatchbacks - driving around town is much, much easier (manoeuvre, parking etc) with a hatch, esp a compact one.

On the other hand, I estimate the new mk6 Polo will arrive here in about a year, probably less? And under new service schedule which just recently introduced, the service cost for the 1.6 is very expensive now - RM700++ for 1st service, around 1k for 2nd & 3rd, and a whopping RM2.5k+- for the 4th! It was already somewhat expensive before compared to its brothers, now its close to ridiculous.

Well for my Golf the price for front pads quoted from my SC is RM711! From a seller here in the Automotive section, just RM280, and they're Brembos, too!
Tldr version, for wear and tear stuff, please get a quotation outside of dealer. |

QUOTE(deep_hunter @ Jul 13 2017, 01:26 PM) thinking of getting new golf 1.4 for daily use.is it wise decision or not?something travelling more then 100km aday something less then 10km. still have fear for all the bad stories abt vw. already feel the performance and very like it. any sifu would comment? Well yea the current 1.4 has a hefty, like what, $25k discount? But then the facelift is coming soon, and I was told by some credible source that it'll be nicely specced. Active Info Display and stuff, and we're not even talking about the GTI or R! The problem they have currently is pricing, though. As for the problems etc.. experience may vary. Mine went thru 2 batteries, 1 mecha, and upcoming water pump/clutch. Aside all that, very good, actually. |
