QUOTE(r3kahsttub @ Dec 17 2015, 12:16 PM) VW does actively browse forums, and it wouldn't take very much effort for them to uncover which customer you are. Anyway, do not know what or how the accident happened, but it sounds like they offered to repair it for you, and it sounds as though you have already accepted it. If you're were not satisfied before, you should not have accepted and you should have raised it to VGM directly. I wrote an email to VGM to express my dissatisfaction and ask for a formal letter(so far no reply) from VGM that states that they will ensure that my car will be repaired in an orderly manner and will be returned to me in good condition. I am writing here because I want to see if anyone been in my shoes and how they handle it. I have thoughts of making it big by posting in FB and internet but I talked to a ex staff of Volkswagen. He told me that whenever I send in my car to SC, the form that I signed is to protect the SC against cases like this. So I guess it was well played by the SC and I have no choice but to let them repair it. I am just worried that they return my car but it is not in a satisfactory condition. Or maybe worse like using few months and I realised problems start to come out because it had been in accident.

Well, take note of the damage caused by the accident; if not fixed properly, the consequences should be immediate and not happen "a few months later".
I'm just throwing it out in the open; let's say a rim was damaged, it will not cause your radio to fail, or battery to go flat. While I'm not saying you would jump to such conclusions, I have seen many many many making such ridiculous claims.
Either way, certainly bad luck to have this happen to you. If no reply from VGM, call to follow up. But do not expect a VGM rep to go over to the SC to monitor on progress of repairs for your car. They will simply instruct the SC to work on your car properly; at the end of the day, it is the SC who is responsible for ensuring your car is back to good health.

Well, I guess I have to keep a close look out at the SC then. Was really pissed off yesterday and wrote a nasty email to VGM. Shall see how they response to me. Just called VGM hotline and ask them to response to me asap

Well, for a start, my 2.5 years old Golf MK7 never gave me any problems other than some minor rattling sound here and there. Bear in mind that I do not drive my car gently most of the time This post has been edited by Yapmy: Dec 18 2015, 02:39 PM

If you noticed the mileage is quite low. 40K against 2.5 years of ownership. Long distance distance drive only.. Good news is they'll change the mecha and I can collect it tomorrow evening

Guys, sorry to bother y'all, was interested in getting a 2010 Golf GTi MK6.
Anything that I should know about this particular model?
Issues? Fixes?
And I would like to also know how much would a regular service cost and what are the service intervals?
Sorry, am a total muggle when it comes to Volkswagens.

QUOTE(outpace @ Dec 11 2015, 07:50 AM) Well, I had encountered some issue with wet 6 speed. Driving highway Downhill 130KM/h oil temp 112 Celsius traffic at the front, so I release the pedal for a brief moment the car moved away, so I press on pedal again it simply stalled. After a few press, no choice but to shift to N and shift back to D1. Back to normal. Millage 20K plus, not sure what I can do with this issue, it's only once off, but not pleasant. sound like a throttle body problem to me, check the tb condition next service

Read this -> DSG GameAnd learn how the gearbox behaves and why it behaves this way. This article should be a mandatory read for all to-be DSG owners. Based on reliability and maintenance wise personally i'd suggest u to go a45 if u're planning to get new gold gti mk7. the price might be differ but the experience is totally different.. if u're getting a secondhand one. yes go for it i've yet to encounter any problem yet except the bad service centres
