Thanks for your suggestions
I call wayyy more than 50 minutes. Previously company pay, but might be changing job so that's why hesitating whether to maintain

Data wise even 3gb is more than sufficient. Don't download with mobile connection so that's not a problem

What u think??

It really depends how much u will be calling per month.
1) u have 50min free for the 38 plan. u r able to make an additional 240 min of call (rm 42)
2) either that or spend on the additional data of rm50=5gb.
3) do remember whatsapp will be able to make calls as well.
All in all, flexibility is the keyword for this plan.

If you use a lot of calls which surpass the free 50 minutes on the FIRST Basic 38 then it is worth considering changing to FIRST Gold.

In terms of data, if you use a lot of data on weekends then it is also worth to change to FIRST Gold. Otherwise I feel that the old FIRST Basic 38 plan is better for people who use mobile data more on weekdays because we can Max Up RM50 to add another 5GB making it total of 8GB all-day data for RM88.

Then I think it is down to how much you will be spending on your calls. Roughly how much you'll be spending on calls? If RM38 plus your calls is lower than say RM70 then I think it's still better to remain on current plan for its flexibility.

Or if you don't mind and can afford perhaps register another line on FIRST Gold for your work use. The FIRST Basic 38 is relatively low commitment and once you convert to another plan you'll never be able to come back to it.

refer back your past bills, on average,if amount exceeded 80, u can consider an upgrade. Getting a second line is another option worth considering as this 38 plan is pretty much extinct.
U can play around with two lines with your ipad or as a second phone. Could even consider telco D or the upcoming telco W, for the unlimited talk time for the second line.
Or, skipped all the hassle and just upgrade it to 80. But again, there's no turning back as OKLY puts it.
Take your time to consider as u have till 31/5.

what is the possible reason that being charged for data roaming but phone MOBILE DATA and DATA ROAMING turned off? only using phone calls, sms and wifi. furthermore, to subscribe to data, we need to dial *123# which is RM38/day.

Perhaps I will try to turn off LTE on my next trip to sg. In fact I was charged again the same amount few days ago when I was in sg. Cannot make report now because bill statement is not out yet.

Same case with you when I went to Thailand on 9th April.
Data roaming is off, didn't make any call / pick up call / SMS, data is off. Get charged RM38 as well.

Call to CS and keep telling me the same thing "here state you use GRPS data...etc", change my tone a bit only they willing to make a report.

Last year October I went to HK with exactly same setting (didn't turn on airplane mode), but didn't get charge.

I guess Celcom change how their setting this year to become once you've connected to ANY network in oversea, they will charge the RM38, but just my guess anyway.

Hahaha. Now that you have put it that way, it is harder for me to choose. Currently on Basic 38. Basically 3GB is not enough for me nowadays. It used to be enough but spotty wireless at the office now makes me rely on my mobile internet more. I am now eyeing U Mobile's P70. Bought their prepaid just to test the line and looks good so far for the places that I often go to. Will see for a few more days

I think it'll take a while before Celcom improves their network but hopefully it'll be soon with the amount of new users coming in.

Eh want to ask have anyone here got missed call sms from celcom when you press the pick up call button? Like the call dropped the moment the phone rings and you pick it up to answer. Like within 2sec the phone started to ring ,press answer call it just give you the dropped call tone.how often does this happen? I got it twice within this 2 months from callers calling me from telecom and maxis, celcom line also.
