Because there was this one time that I always suggest to follow SPY as the opening indicator than futures and one of the mentioned it is unreliable but I find it the most accurate indicator of all. sweat.gif

i am more use to djia but think same - just indices... one heavyweights, one broader market. not detached from each other.

Found some of the US REITs that come with 10%+ div.... i also concern about the tax of 30% (non us citizen).... maybe buy in huge batch and hold for long term.... ? Please advice on this Sifu  notworthy.gif

If a ctr has 10% yield, after a 30% tax, still get to earn 7%, better than local Msian FD, right ? And coupld with the appreciation of the USD against the RM, mor advantage there. rclxms.gif

Ths can be an instrumnt under : buy foreign assets, and not hold foreign cash.

Aunty Yellen been talking about "possible" rate hike since late last year.. and all she says is data dependent.
Market been anticipating this move, and dollar been moving up and up.. and now back to parity as
if it already happened.  shakehead.gif

So, what exactly is the rate hike?    It turns out to be 25bps. Then, they'll pause for another 6-12 months.  doh.gif

I think what's going to happen is when the actual rate is raised, Dollar will drop, commodities like gold, oil, copper will reverse course.  tongue.gif

Too much 'noise' from our auntie. Jus prepare for the hike. Too many guessing games,... creating too much headache and anxiety. The hike wil come, sooner or later. After the actual event, if the USD strengthens further, that's expectd. If it's 'the buy on rumour, sell on event' thing takes place, I'll stil hold-on to my USD-based assets. The USD will turn around again - because of,... FUNDAMENTALS. No problem for me - I'm a long-term holder. I'll just focus on accumulatng more bullets to make (accumulate) more acquisitions.

Fortunaltely, I bought the yielding energy ctr. I'll ride it out while continuing to collect my div. No need to cutloss and dump because don't need the money now. MIght evn buy more.

it seems to be repeating what was seen in last qtr.
rammed up before earnings report, then dive upon the data.
recover a bit the day after, then drift lower, lower...
repeat after 3 months, next qtr.
will hv to consider selling when it returns to 130ish... hmm.gif

Looks like a gloomy opening today.

Pre-Market Indicator
Dow - 17,797.00 -69.00
Nasdaq 100 - 4,617.25 -49.25
S&P 500 - 2,107.25 -7.25

And...AAPL alone is indicated to shave 46.30 points from the Dow alone.
