QUOTE(yok70 @ Jul 24 2015, 07:41 PM) When usd is strong, people don't want to buy oil because it's more expensive. Therefore oil sales for cheaper price to attract buyers back? Is this the reason why? this will help:http://commodities.about.com/od/researchco...dity-Prices.htm |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jul 24 2015, 08:50 PM) thanks for the link.hmm......still need time to digest. i mean, say i'm Malaysian. When USD strong, my ringgit is weak. So, even though oil is cheaper according to USD, but it may not be the case when i (as a consumer) buy oil using ringgit. So the cost is same, then there will be no demand increment in the world except for US. This case, how can dollar affect so much on commodities? |

Got news that Clinton is proposing a sharp increase in short-term capital taxes. Will we be affected?
----------------------- Hillary Clinton proposes sharp increase in short-term capital gains taxes Everett Rosenfeld | @Ev_Rosenfeld 6 Mins Ago Breaking News Presidential contender Hillary Clinton's plan to overhaul capital gains taxes aims to foster long-term growth by taxing some short-term investments at higher rates. Clinton's proposal comes as part of her plan to fight what she sees as an excessive focus on quick profits in capital markets. Clinton's plan specifically seeks to double the period of time for the 39.6 percent top capital gains rate (from up to a year to up to two years), and then institute a sliding scale until assets are held for more than six years. After that six-year point, those gains would face the current 20 percent tax rate. Clinton's proposal comes as part of her plan to fight what she sees as an excessive focus on quick profits in capital markets. ----------------------- This post has been edited by ILoveLalat.net: Jul 24 2015, 10:39 PM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jul 24 2015, 10:03 PM) don't forget global economy growth is slowing less demand on commodities too. sgd is the world best currency, better than usd. sgd is the new gold, if anyone worry on usd, buy sgd. so gold can come back to 800 or 600. weak price in usd cum weak demand = double whammy on commodity exporting countries. did u notice aud = sgd now?
