QUOTE(Hansel @ Jul 20 2015, 04:57 PM) Wont be easy - historically, gold price always has an Inverse Co-relation with USD strength. The FOMC is SURE to hike interst rates soon, which is sure to strengthen the USD - can't avoid this. And hence, if history is to repeat itself, then the final effect will be gold price is sure to drop. UNTIL.... the FOMC says they intend to stop hking interest rates. Aunty Yellen been talking about "possible" rate hike since late last year.. and all she says is data dependent.Market been anticipating this move, and dollar been moving up and up.. and now back to parity as if it already happened. So, what exactly is the rate hike? It turns out to be 25bps. Then, they'll pause for another 6-12 months. I think what's going to happen is when the actual rate is raised, Dollar will drop, commodities like gold, oil, copper will reverse course. |

Hey.. whatca know. The fruit is at good support here at 125 after so called wall street "disappointment" about their outlook.
Sales missed "analysts" estimates? Who are those analysts huh? What are they drinking? US 49.5bln revenue for last qtr with 35% growth from last year.. is a huge success in my book. Heck, enough to even pay off Malaysia 1MDB debt in one shot and lots of spare change. Najib could have invested in AAPL fund instead ... I think we got good buying opportunity again if it dives down below 120 again. This post has been edited by danmooncake: Jul 23 2015, 10:29 AM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jul 23 2015, 10:45 AM) here's the thing i dun quite follow. Not just AAPL, lots of other companies (INTC, WFC, XOM, GILD) are doing this to pump up their EPS.so much already returned to shareholders via buyback? yet the price have not improved since buyback announcement made in apr. what would happen if the buyback is reduced or halted? I think buy back won't stop because they got tons of cash and no where to go. Eventually, price will improve because of the reduction of shares in market and earnings continue to improve. Maybe even more volatile too. This post has been edited by danmooncake: Jul 23 2015, 11:19 AM |

Did you guys read this story?
http://www.cnbc.com/2015/07/28/chinese-far...ost-it-all.html Uncle farmer invested entire savings of US164K equivalent (convert in RMB, that's like over mln), then leverage up to 1 mln usd margin (6.2 mln RMB) and buy ONE stock? And he bought when the SHCOMP index over 4000, because of govt propaganda urging everyone to play.. Everyone will SELL whenever there is a pop opportunity to get their money back. The institutional players will eat these people alive knowing them have bought on margin. No wonder China market will crash... with tons of clueless people like this in the market. Waah.. Ringgit drops to 3.87... even at this level, more people continue to dump ringgit and buy USD and SGD.

QUOTE(mikehwy @ Aug 6 2015, 04:16 PM) Oil going $40.xx Imo, want to play oil, just go for that $5 increments because it is fast moving in a couple of days swing trade. XLE - is for Oil companies stocks (or energy producing companies) - not necessarily can correlate but somewhat. (3x leverage is ERX/ERY) XOP (or USO) - this one correlates more to Crude Oil price. (3x leverage is GUSH/DRIP). Just look at the huge run up for DRIP with these last 2 months. |
