Maybank Ikhwan MasterCard for your petrol and groceries. Shopping I still stick to my M2Cards AmEx Plat due to 5x, I don't have good general cash back card and my spending is not a lot.

Hi there, thanks for the recommendation. I'm trying to avoid having too many cards for now, but UOB One Card Classic seems pretty attractive. Mind to justify why you pick that over this? FYI, my petrol consumption is around RM250-RM300 per month so UOB is still in range.

UOB One has Annual Fees which you are not willing to pay, aren't you?
Maybank Ikhwan MasterCard is free AF, 5% cash back for petrol and groceries on Fridays and Saturdays.

They are currently having UOB CC Booth in 1Utama, which I came across yesterday.

The person there say first year is free, 2nd year onwards with 12 swipes will automatically waive the annual fee but I don't read this anywhere in the T&C. Is this even possible actually, if I did not initiate the request to waive?

Well, get black and white from the fellow. He can promise you everything but you may end up paying AF from second year onward. Usually first year is waived but not from second year onward.

Last I heard one needs to spend 60k per annum to get it waived but that's for UOB One Plat, no more such thing as 12x swipes and etc. So, if you apply for it, try calling them for waiver when AF kicks in later, still subject to bank's approval.

My colleague didn't manage to get her UOB Lady's Card AF waived recently.

Ok thanks, will go to him to check it out later and will also consider your suggestion on MBB Gold Card Ikhwan.

There are two types of Ikhwan, make sure you choose MasterCard and not VISA. VISA is Petronas Ikhwan for TP only.

1. Annual Income: RM180K and above.

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: If yes, better. If not, that's okay as I can cancel if they don't waive.

3. Card required for: Going to do house renovation and buying lots of house furniture. Need to see which card has the best return (cash back or points)

4. Existing credit cards if any: HLB Wise, PBB VS and Maybankard 2

5. Looking at CC from: None yet.

6. Others: Doesn't have to be long term card.

Thanks!

Generic purpose card like HLB Fortune can be considered, too. But it's only good if you have more than 2K expenses per month.

Hi All, I got 4 credit card now but i only plan to left 2, the purpose that i applied so many card previous is to purchase new home furniture with installment. There is still some outstanding balance inside but not an issue, i can clear or balance transfer to the remaining card. But please recommend me which 2 card is worth to kept.

Current cards i have :
1. HongLeong Mach Card
2. Aeon Gold Master Card
3. UOB One
4. Maybank Islamic Platinum Card

Normally i used to Balance transfer or doing installment for some electronic or home appliance. Or other than that will be only used for petrol or retail shopping, hardly used for dinner / movie / entertainment... Isn't wise to use credit card to paid for house installment or car installment? Any benefit to do so? I never tried

I would suggest Convert (4) to Maybank Ikhwan MasterCard for your petrol and groceries, keep (2) for PPL Privileges then Potong no. (1), (3).
Since U seldom utilize HLB Mach on Movie/ Dining & MBB Islamic Ikhwan Mastercard a Lifetime's fee Waiver CC already can cover ALL Your Petrol, Groceries Expenses there's No longer need of UOB One (got to Pay the AF) ...
