I went there by car, so don't know much about the public transport.
According to my bf who took a bus there few years back the taxi don't have meter - price quoted by taxi drivers.

Kea Farm still can take taxi. Going to the plantations also can take taxi, but when coming out, don't think it'll be easy to hail a taxi. My bf ended up walking a long way out.

BTW, in cameronhighlands.com i think there's some half day tour by the local tour agent. Maybe you can check that out.

You'd need at least 2 rooms for 5 persons. I recommend going for the private apartments.
There are loads of them especially beind the 4-storey shops with grey roof (where Maybank is).
Look out for the signboards, they are all over the place.

I recommend climbing Gunung Irau or Gunung Berinchang for those who want something different than the usual tourist traps in cameron. Really interesting as you're hiking in 15 degree C temperatures... Not something u can easily do in Malaysia indeed.

Wow I miss Cameron Highlands. Miss the temperature the most, I wish the whole of Malaysia has the same temperature as Cameron Highlands. So peaceful and serene up there too. Good place to retire. rclxms.gif

The most recent time I went, altogether 6 people, we stayed in a very clean and very comfortable apartment on top of shop lots, 4 rooms 3 bathrooms. Quite affordable too, and owner was very friendly. Got Astro and huge fridge some more. rclxm9.gif I don't have the contact though. tongue.gif

But I certainly don't miss the journey to and fro there. rclxub.gif Go up keep feeling dizzy, go down I even puked, first time puking on bus. doh.gif Every time travel to and from Cameron Highlands sure feel sick. If got cable car like Genting Highlands how nice. nod.gif And even though I sit bus/car right up to Genting's hilltop I also won't get sick, maybe it's the difference in roads/height? blush.gif
