what is the best budget hotel at tanah rata for 5 person?
*
You'd need at least 2 rooms for 5 persons. I recommend going for the private apartments.
There are loads of them especially beind the 4-storey shops with grey roof (where Maybank is).
Look out for the signboards, they are all over the place.

There are some stalls next to the tourist office in Tanah Rata but there is mo pasar malam. There is a pasar (wet market) behind the shops.

Some people prefer Tanah Rata for the serenity compared to Brinchang which is quite disorderly.
Speaking of tourist office, the one at Tanah Rata is a joke. There is no such thing as free information, everything has to be bought!

You will avoid it if you take Tapah route though.

Are you sure? I though the traffic from Tapah would be just as heavy. It is a shorter route for those coming from the south, though very windy.
But one thing is for sure, the highland stretch from Tanah Rata to Tringkap will be jammed big time.

sounds nice and must be very relaxing and enjoying there~

but too bad, due to the rain, parent worry and thus gotta cancel the trip><

In weathers like this, I don't feel like going to the highlands.
It's cool enough where we are. It was 24dC last night.
Cold and wet weather is not much fun really. Rainy weather is bad for the hillslopes too.

Guys, how many days will it take to explore Cameron Highlands? Can one day kao tim? My intention is mainly sight seeing and photography. I won't mind if I eat Gardenia bread there.

Thanks. I'm thinking if I should go one day or book hotel overnight.

You don't get the feel of Cameron in 1 day la. Makes more sense to stay one night at least, after going through the tortoous route up.
Would be nice to go on a weekday if you can make it.

Where the hotels can be booked online, they are almost always, cheaper.

Many of the smaller hotels cannot be booked online.

Not a bad price for one of the better hotels for the holiday season. How did you book?

They have been talking about it for donkey years. It's still business as usual for the tourist industry.
With the type of District Officer to manage the council, what do you expect?

Is it safe to travel to Cameron Highland at night through Simpang Pulai route ?

Done that many times, not a problem if you don't go too fast.
With the lights on, it is actually easier to see and anticipate oncoming cars approaching a bend.
