~ 7am I think no jam-lah..normally jam started ~ 9-10am. Normally ~ the roadside market in Tringkap, Kea Farm (2 locations) & Brinchang town.

If you are coming from KL, easier & confirm no jam is from Tapah. You bypass those jam area as Strawberry located right after Tanah Rata & b4 Brinchang. The only troublesome is slow lorries in front of you & winding road.

No If from Ipoh, take Spg Pulai. You did not mention where you from mah...Those from Penang, or North. Yes use spg Pulai.. no point spending toll & one big round via Tapah.

Only those from the South, going via Tapah is recommended to save toll, distance and even jam during certian hours.

If you go early, you won't be stuck in jam. I went there as early as 6am from Penang island, stop for drive-thru at Juru Auto-City's McD. Then straight speeding up Cameron Highland. Reach BOH Tea Plantation without jam but by time I leaving the plantation to head down to my hotel then it jam. Narrow road while both side also got lot of cars. Car still ok but wait you see the tour bus and school bus. Don't recommend for newbie driver as you might find difficulty to pass thru. Some people park outside and walk in. It won't be hot even it is afternoon. During the jam at BOH Tea Plantation, walking is even faster than you driving. whistling.gif

By the way..I would like to ask something about the location of place to stay in CH. If we stay at an apartment located in between Tanah Rata and Brinchang, is those place near to any interesting tourist attraction? such as Bee farm, orchid farm, strawberry farm, KEA farm or Tea plantation. Because we going there without our own car.

Going to CH without own car really teruk. Anyway, you can book a full day package for those without transport..2-3 yrs ago ~ RM88/pax. including treking in Gua Musang, Lonjing searching for raflesia, mossy forest, Boh Tea, butterfly farm & etc

Without a car by taking taxi it is kinda expensive. If you stay between Tanah Rata and Brinchang, you won't be near to the bee farm, rose alley, BOH plantation, etc. If you go in group of 3~4 then can share the cost of the taxi.

Then by package is much more better ( because they did provide transport ) ,what I found out through some research if going there within group more such as Adult, triple & sharing is RM270/person. I kinda bit clueless with adult, triple and sharing term here,is this price only applicable if there is 3 person only?please enlighten me here my friend.

Better stay in brinchang becoz there got strawberry park..rajoo can walk(food also easy compare to tanah rata), others need to take travel agent to go to bee farm, boh tea,..

If package per room much better haha.. Triple meaning they will add additional bed inside the same room lor unless the room is wth 3 beds. Meaning if let say RM270/pax, you probably paying RM810 for 3 peron in a room. or per room basis is probably RM405/room/nite. If it's lousy hotel, paying RM405/nite is super expensive even if transport included.

For me, I will rather take a bus there for ~ RM80/pax return, Stay in triple room hotel in KRS for ~ RM120/nite/room, and book a CH Raflesia tour for RM98/pax.

Overall per pax for 3 D 2 N:
Tranport - RM80 + room RM80 + tour RM98 = RM258 only smile.gif

Here's the website to book day trip around CH: http://www.cameronsecrets.com/Articles/Loc...Rafflesia-Tour/

BTW, Brinchang although more convenient bcos of more establishments but the food there are slaughtering houses. Tanah Rata is more relaxing, and food is much better and nicer than Brinchang. rclxms.gif

It's Restoren dan Makanan Laut You Hoo. In the afternoons they also sells 'chap fan' and this is where the locals usually eats. Thee's a catch though, for the locals the price is fair but for tourist, you have to take a chance. There are also reviews of this restaurants selling very expensive. Luck, I guess. They do know locals very well as they can see locals eating there often just as OK Tuck Restaurant and a few others.

For tourist all eateries are expensive except an Indian aunty selling Indian food in front of the Planter's Hotel at the car park. Nothing fancy just nice and simple food!

Usually when I travel to places unfamiliar, I just go unplanned. Just travel on non-busy dates and find lodging after reaching the place. Even during peak period, there will be lodgings available. You can get take the bus from Puduraya, Unititi Express is the bus that provides service to CH. From Tanah Rata (that's where the bus stops) you can see many hotels on the main road, just check it out. Walk around town and check out the tourist counters. They have pictures of the attractions that CH offers. You can also book their tours and on the extra time, just sit around sipping hot tea and have your dinner at a relaxing pace. Problems with us Malaysians is they want to do everything on one trip which makes the trip stressful! rclxub.gif

There are only two counters in Tanah Rata and that's the only ones I have seen but there are many other in the brochures in hotels. Actually any taxi driver can be the guide if you are visiting places of interest other than Lojing (for Rafflesia hikes) or Lata Iskandar (a waterfall on the route from Tapah). Other than the two places other attractions like Rose Valley, Bee Farm, Kea Farm, Sungai Palas Boh Plantation, Habu Boh Plantation, Strawberry Farm, Sam Poh temple in Brinchang is all within reach of the taxi driver. If you are into hiking, you can check with the hotel in Tanah Rata for Robinson's Fall trail, Lookout Point trail, Gunung Beremban trail is near the hospital, Lookout tower trail is near Tanah Rata police station and all are within walking distance from Tanah Rata.

I suggest you enjoy the slow pace of CH and not rushing from one attraction to another. You can book the taxi for half a day and finish the far places mentioned above and then spend the next day just wandering around Tanah Rata and also do a short hike into the jungle. icon_rolleyes.gif
