Now it is very simple. Google for it in Google.com and you get whatever you need. I don't remember you go on 6th and 7th. Price could be double or triple of the normal price rate.

And it would be very very crowded. If you driving and wish to go to the BOH tea plantation, go early and please be prepare to stuck in traffic jam on the way out. The road is too narrow.

I got this problem when I went on Hari Raya 1st day and 2nd day. On the 2nd day, it jam nearly 2 hours from Brinchang to back to Simpang Pulai.

Strawberry Park Resort is actually in between Tanah Rata and Brinchang. Tanah Rata to Brinchang can be reach within 10min but depend on traffic. I was there this August.

Love the weather there and is not as hot as what I experience in Penang or KL. You can walk in noon and you can feel the heat from the sun (not too much) and the same time the wind blowing thru is cold.

Simpang Pulai route is most recommended. Wider and nicer for the road surface.

Not recommended for public holiday. It would be very crowded and jam all the way. Hard to find parking too.

are u suggesting me to take Tapah route instead of Smpg Pulai even if im from Ipoh?

thanks for da info!! really appreciate it!!! cheers..

If you go early, you won't be stuck in jam. I went there as early as 6am from Penang island, stop for drive-thru at Juru Auto-City's McD. Then straight speeding up Cameron Highland. Reach BOH Tea Plantation without jam but by time I leaving the plantation to head down to my hotel then it jam. Narrow road while both side also got lot of cars. Car still ok but wait you see the tour bus and school bus. Don't recommend for newbie driver as you might find difficulty to pass thru. Some people park outside and walk in. It won't be hot even it is afternoon. During the jam at BOH Tea Plantation, walking is even faster than you driving. whistling.gif

By the way..I would like to ask something about the location of place to stay in CH. If we stay at an apartment located in between Tanah Rata and Brinchang, is those place near to any interesting tourist attraction? such as Bee farm, orchid farm, strawberry farm, KEA farm or Tea plantation. Because we going there without our own car.
*
Without a car by taking taxi it is kinda expensive. If you stay between Tanah Rata and Brinchang, you won't be near to the bee farm, rose alley, BOH plantation, etc. If you go in group of 3~4 then can share the cost of the taxi.

If go BOH in sg palas, pls drive slowly, and even slower at corners. I've been there, and think that some r just driving too fast (+ lousy skill). Be careful. Some corners r just small enough for 2 cars to squeeze through. 1 mistake, down u go. I m not trying to scare u all, but careful is the key. It's great having your tea at the plantation smile.gif

Yes, I agree drie carefully but you can have a wonderful breakfast there. I love the weather there.

I would like to ask, can a kancil 660 cc with 3 adults go up cameron? I planning to go on either 26 sunday or 27 monday, which one do you think is better? Also, do they have pasar malam every night?

thanks!
*
No problem for Kancil.

They don't have night market every night unless it is school holidays or public holidays. But definitely every weekend they are there.

to those 'sifu', planning go there this friday...do u think it's ok to depart from kl at 12.30-1pm?
tot wan do something at pavilion b4 going there in the morning...advise ya!!!thanks!!^_^

Driving under hot weather will make you feel tired. I don't like driving long distance on afternoon.

For morning breakfast, try it at BOH Tea Plantation. They got a restaurant there. Nice drink and nice cake.

QUOTE(Kenzany @ Feb 29 2012, 02:08 AM)
if your to-do-list is short, and you want to skip the morning market, then should be ok.

assuming you reach cameron at 4pm, or 3.30pm, depend on the traffic and your driving speed,

you can:

visit a few farms + night market at brinchang, then steamboat dinner before going back.

Added on February 29, 2012, 2:11 am

cameron is small enough, as long as you're going with car, you can drive around easily, you dont have to stay nearby, every place is very near, except the green view farm.

btw, i have an agent renting apartment for RM1xx per night, if im not mistaken it is 3 bedroom one, with TV and basic kitchen stuffs. if you want the number you can pm me.

cool2.gif Don't recommend people the steamboat in Cameron Highland. They taste so bad. I believe KL steamboat also nicer than them. Is not cheap and mostly vege.

Strawberries now like other common CH crops is not seasonal. The maturity depends more on the the span of time planted till picking. Some farms plant them in stages do they are available whole year round. If the ones that opens to public are not fruiting, you can always look for the ones where they plant it strictly for commercial. You can ask permission for photographing since you are not picking.

Ofcoz we will pluck and eat too. I love strawberry too.

Many people just book first. You don't have to pay deposit unless it is public holiday or during school holiday.

is it true that the pasar malam will open everyday during this school holiday? How if I go on Monday to CM? Will it be jammed also due to school holiday?
*
Yes. Night market is available everyday during school holiday season. And it would be very jam.

QUOTE(Nosense @ Jun 6 2012, 04:23 AM)
Will going this weekend, my second trip to CH.  Staying at Century Pines.
can I know what is the timing to go up avoiding the jam?
On my first trip, I had hard time finding parking when visit the night market at brinchang.  I will expect the same this weekend.
I intend to take cab to the night market, but is it easy to get a cab from the night market back to hotel? Given the jam there, I am afraid not able to get a cab back.
*
The best time if you can reach 9am so you can avoid many traffic jam. After 10am the traffic would be very jam. Sometime even walking also faster than you drive from beginning of the road to the end of the road.

Since you stay at Century Pines then just grab a cab/taxi to Brinchang for the night market. I recommend to most people to stay at Brinchang as more activities and easy access to night market, tea farm and strawberry farm.

so how about going there damn early in the morning? maybe 7am -8am ?

will it still be so jam?
*
7am~8am? From? Well, it is not recommended as you be stuck in traffic jam in Brinchang and Tanah Rata. Everyone is going up but it would be fine for 1st day of Raya. Anyway, is a long weekend so expecting the heavy traffic on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

I suggest you go on normal weekend would be better. Else you find difficulty on finding parking, queue for dinner and stuck in traffic.

Hi all, I'm planning to go CH this 18/1 - 20/1. 3D2N. Is there any nice budget hotel around rm150 at tanah rata? I only know 1 hotel that fit my budget which is HillView Inn.I prefer near to shop and restaurant as i will go by public transport. And also recommend me a good Tour agency. Thanks.
*
I don't recommend you to take tour agency as it is not worth it and Cameron Highland is very small place. Just grap a map in your hotel and take taxi that can take you anywhere you like. Unless you go in big group then you might consider tour agency as they got van which can carry you guys around.

I recommend you stay around Brinchang area so you can easily access to night market or food hunting within walking distance. I can recommend you Parkland or Rosa Passadena or Hotel Titiwangsa.
