get a SX strat and microcube, both rounded up should be almost RM900.
cheap single coils always sound better than cheap humbuckers.

Seriously, I think we should add a new rule......
All beginners should buy a Microcube and a SX Strat if your budget is below RM1000. |

QUOTE(asura_86 @ Mar 2 2007, 10:25 AM) I use Sonic Foundry Acid Pro 3.0, so does RustReaver4D1 The cool thing I like about Acid Pro is that they have time grids which really helps in programming drums and also for cutting/copy/pasting recorded tracks (i hear cries of 'Cheater!' ). I've not had any experience with Adobe Audition. Is it good? |

cos the epi pickups are muddy, the older ones from 90s are even worse.
closest gibson pickups to vintage sounding are the '57 classics, next are the burstbuckers. i put EMGs in mine. This post has been edited by Everdying: Mar 3 2007, 10:18 AM |

i just dropped by the guitar store to look at pedals, and i tried the moen VM pedal. the sound was great! listed price RM285 but he quoted me RM250.
initially i had my eyes set on the ds-1 and the bad monkey but the ds 1 had no stock so i tested out the bad monkey. i really liked the moen pedals, both VM(violent Metal) and DM(distortion Master). You guys should check it out too. As for the ds1 i already ask them to bring in more stock(will arrive in a week) the shop keeper called me just now and asked me which ds1 i wanted; original or modified :S whats the difference between original and modified? Added on March 3, 2007, 7:18 pmi just bought "tickets" for the wes borland clinic too This post has been edited by SweetTooth: Mar 3 2007, 07:18 PM |

QUOTE(valkyrie1232 @ Mar 2 2007, 10:36 PM) I use Sonic Foundry Acid Pro 3.0, so does RustReaver4D1 it's not too bad, quite good for editing audio...but the controls need a little bit of getting used to...audition is more to waveform and time-code based...so u need to do a little bit of calculation...The cool thing I like about Acid Pro is that they have time grids which really helps in programming drums and also for cutting/copy/pasting recorded tracks (i hear cries of 'Cheater!' ). I've not had any experience with Adobe Audition. Is it good? cool thing is when u edit audio for a video, u can actually import the video and break it down into frame by frame to do editing there...and of course, the easy integration between adobe editing suite... |

Eh? You were there? What time?
I was testing out the Epi LP Special II they had on display. Quite decent, but nowhere near the Famous Les Paul tone. Not worm enough. Maybe with better pickups.... but for RM990.... eh. dunno lah. I guess it's ok for beginners who are set on LPs. Amazingly, I dialed quite a good overdriven tone using a Metal Zone and what I think was an Acoustic Half Stack (!!!).... Played some BLS and Lamb Of God..... quite decent... but nowhere near the power of my Zakk Wylde LP and the Marshall JCM2000 at Akarkarya..... *glee* Oh, and The Epi LP Standard is RM2500.... but that's waaaaaay over priced. I also went to SMX and they had the Fast Track USB, but that's going for about 500++.. Only 1 input, so I'll be getting the UX2 on Tuesday from CK music.... |
