Oh, just replace the current inlays with better quality one izzit, i thought you want some fancy inlay work which will need the whole fretboard replaced.

It can be done. If luthier can removed fretboard and stick it back what's a few inlays? Might still cost you RM300 to 500 though.

And yes, the earlier MIK Epi I habve came across have the Mother of Toiler Seats inlays. Really fugly.

Ironically, it is the China ones that have the really nice looking inlays.

And yes that is a bird eyes maple top. Looks scary to me though. Like lots of tiny little eyes looking at you.
*
oi my inlays like dat ok?? =(

yeah the top is abit scary sometimes
hahaha
dun care ler =p

@everdying
errr
is it a good thing? owh is it just a veneer or 1/4" cap ?? [lol i think i can forsee the answer lol ]

halo! its been a long time since i dropped in here... you guys are still rockin like hell i see biggrin.gif

just a bit of a somewhat 'sad' update on my side. about 3 months ago i got into an accident near 1-Utama. my Tin Milo Kelisa whacked onto the rear of a Ford Escape and the effect was similar to hitting a tree.

and i broke two fingers on my left hand, the middle and the forefinger. i had to wear a cast for 3 weeks. one of the first thing that i asked the doctor was 'will i still be able to play guitar'. he said yeah, after a month.

but alas, until now, my fingers' positions are a bit screwed up, looking like i've been doing the Star Trek hand gesture for too long and I can't bloody play my guitar properly!!!  powerchords hurt my forefinger, and open chords are a mess... and forget about solos...

anyways, i hope this isn't permanent. i miss my gears biggrin.gif

cheerios!
*
oo man...that sucks
nvm!!! keep playing man!!!! u'll get it back im sure of it!!!!
wahahaha now i will use this chance to learn more n become better than you [lol never in a million years =.=]

aihz....
i need to take lessons to improve i guess
too lazy to do learn myself
nvm !!! i learn scales n pentatonics myself!!!
=D i refer to u ppl here kalau tak faham [i gerenti i wont lol]

Getting it in Transparent black..... VERY cool.

Also saw a Jackson with a Sustainer pickup and Jackson designed Humbuckers.....

And do you think I'll be insane if I swap out the Seymour Duncan's for my EMG-Hz??

Well, I'll keep the stocks for a while and see if I need more kick in terms of tone. And besides...... this RR3 will be the "shredding" guitar...... I think the SD's will suit it just fine.......

But I know everdying will complain because it's a bolt-on neck...... but hey....
*
is the heel of the bolt on neck sculpted ?

No, it has a big old fender style heel. More people should be adopting the AANJ for bolt on. Makes such a huge difference.
*
yeah
the sculpted neck makes high fret access so much better
lol

not rly a prob with ppl with long fingers tho

Me and Everdying did say that the RR5 is the better buy, being a neckthrough design but Blacktrix wants an FR no matter what.
*
i agree as well

but also thinking from blacktrix side
he alr has 2 lps with fixed bridges
i think maybe he wants to play whammy abit lol

haihz.... ppl get RR3 for christmas

i dun even know whether i'll get anything for christmas

I always try to steer people towards the OFR, Schallers, or the MIJ Ibanez Edge series of FR if they want a guitar with a FR. I initially thought of an RR3 before, at less than 3k, seems like a better buy than a Prestige RG.

But having been using an Edge Pro for so long I have came to realized that we must always settle for the best when it comes to FR.

The JT580 (same thing as the LoTRS) I believe will be ok for a few months but after that, the headache starts la, especially if you are going to abuse it ala Steve Vai or Dragonforce style.

Good thing is, it is a direct swap with the OFR though that will set you back another 700-800.

heh
ordering the edwards V from japan is the best alternative =p
get it pinstriped after u receive it

hey guys
is it possible to change a 22fret guitar into a 24 fret??

i think its a matter of ripping of the fret board n putting a new one right??
then putting the fretwire n inlays

ignoring cost its possible aight?
pretty expensive to right?
