There are nicer, pointier ones, for example BC Rich's Warlock series and ESP's AX series. I'm a metalhead so i use the ax series.. to fit the image

Just wanted to check with you all, when you guys play solos right, do you mute all other strings besides the one you're playing on ? I know people who don't(and still doesn't sound messy).

For me i mute with my palm and sometimes my fingers from my fretting hand

Btw i read about this technique using your right thumb to mute strings. Your thumb is perpendicular to the strings. Feels awkward to play :S

and i don't sweep pick cuz i can't play that fast

Hi guys, i think i better intro myself

I'm 17, just started lessons 5 months ago(so late only start )
right now i need some tips on sweep picking, i can't really get it right. I start slow then build up on speed, like most people say.

Any nice licks ?

i want to clarify something, lets say i'm practicing the basic sweep on the first 3 strings(E B G)

lets say i start from G and sweep to E. For the E string, do i pick upstroke or downstroke ? Upstroke feels more right(goes with the flow of the pick) but its like skipping a string in a way.

I wanna do some recording of my own playing(to see how i'm doing) but not sure what softwares to use, I did a search and found this but i'm still not sure which is a good setup. Anyone can give some software reccomendations?

also if I record my guitars, I have to directly plug it into my PC right? need what cable ?

yeah thats what most people say. weird thing is gotta reposition the pick after it :laugh:

one more thing, anyone tried moen distortion pedals ? i saw them at the guitar store and the fella was saying it's good. theres even a short write up to promote it in the star 2 thursdays ago.
