It's a licenced Low profile FR. Might get it fitted with an Original Lo-Pro FR (probably from stewmac..... Here's hoping my Ang Pow collection is good this week!) if I need it.
sigh..... hopefully my dad would contribute a Razorback next year!! hahahahah... EDIT: Unleash the fjookin' Fooory! Yngwie's updated Signature Fender! http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fen...ster?sku=511849 Also, another color for the Razorback: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fen...ster?sku=511849 sigh....... Yeah...finally i had put a V6 engine into my kancil....I let Yamaha music school musical instrument specialist to do it....cost RM20 for each...at first i still doubt that izzit too cheap as bentley cost more than RM50 for each.....he just help me to desolder the INF pickup and replace with these two Dimarzio....about the sound....it's not too obvious if it pass through the G2.1u pedal...when it's plugged straight into the amp....it was very bright and clear...vibrato, pull off, hammer on could be heard obviously as compared to the stock pickup....but i still prefer Evolution more than Breed...strumming is way too fun for me now...
Happy Chinese New Year to you all guys...god bless me got more angpau... |

QUOTE(blacktrix @ Feb 17 2007, 04:05 PM) Woooo. Congrats on your pickup installations. Thanks...yeah..it's not bad...just not as good as what i expected before...but it's really rocks....Not really good job...one part of the pickguard is not stick with the body properly as earlier....bcoz of the wire of DImarzio pickup...it's harder than INF pickup and thicker coz it's assembly of 5 wires....But yeah, RM20 IS quite cheap..... quality wise? Good job? btw...if i wanna change my FR...except Ibanez original FR...which brand is fits ibanez body? Thanks. This post has been edited by Criptonox89: Feb 17 2007, 05:02 PM |

Well, the thing about ibanez fr's is that they aren't the same as the original(a Big of course slap for me there!) FR's that you see. This means that to install a different version(or the original FR, however you want it) only means adding another cavity to your guitar, not forgetting to mention that cutting a few more bits of wood may affect your intonation, looks, and whatnot. For jem jr's,im not quite sure. Is yours and edge pro III? if so, then at most it can go without much changes is an edge pro II. Dont take my word for it though, cos i've seen some people whom changed the FR's to original FR and it turns out fine, while others have failed miserably. I think it all lies in the workmanship.

blacktrix...heres my personal opinion on LP or razorback.
since you're young go for the razorback i got a friend whos 40+, he had 2 US dimes...both he sold off to another friend of mine. actually he sold off most of his pointy guitars, including gibson explorer and V. now he just keeps his classics, vintage strats and strat/LP shapes mostly. he's reasoning is that he cant see himself playing those anymore but if you want a long term keeper, of cos the LP. even tho its new now, in 20yrs...well you know whats gonna happen to the price |

That's what I was thinking too.
I mean, the guitar that got my salivating over guitars was the Les Paul in the first place. So yeah, it's kind of an Investment if I get a Gibson LP standard. Heck, who knows? I can even pass it on to my children and children's children..... making it like a family Heirloom! Now THAT'S something worth passing down. As for the Razorback, the reason why I was considering it in the first place was because I wanted a FR guitar. But now that I have my RR3, do I REALLY need another Pointy FR guitar? Granted, it's Dimebag's legacy and it IS an amazing guitar, but we're talking about a GIBSON Les Paul..... Sigh......... at least I have another year to think about it! |

my advice is the LP. but u know im a big LP fan. u already have a pointed guitar with FR and on the other hand u only have epiphone's not Gibson(although u have an epi zakk wylde LP, but still...).

@blackangel... are you sure Gibson's quality is to be considered as divine?
QUOTE(Criptonox89 @ Feb 17 2007, 04:59 PM) btw...if i wanna change my FR...except Ibanez original FR...which brand is fits ibanez body? Thanks. your Lo-TRS II route can be fitted with OFR style trems. I recommend the Gotoh FR. its much cheaper than the OFR and equally as good.Added on February 18, 2007, 12:43 am QUOTE(blacktrix @ Feb 16 2007, 07:40 PM) Sigh..... now contemplating between a Gibson LP standard or the Razorback..... after all the problems with my FR.... sigh..... You've been having probs with ur FR?Added on February 18, 2007, 12:45 am QUOTE(blackangel @ Feb 16 2007, 08:29 PM) actually it's, provided you got a good FR, you just need to understand how it works and get familiar with it. then it's all good...This post has been edited by MetalZone: Feb 18 2007, 12:45 AM |
