Well, sometimes confidence plays a big role in economics...if everyone is gloomy and pessimistic and cautious, it will only make things worse...

Spend (when there is a need to), don't hold back, it will create a cycle of positive effects

(managed to off load abt 6% of china just 1 day before the recent correction of -10% nav drops)

Alot of new shoplots are being lelong by property developers in some sense like giving rebate and discounts since last year. Housing prices is like stagnant and 2nd hand housing price is kinda good bargain at my area. All this means economy is not good, especially oil price coming down and my city is driven by oil economy

As one member pointed out above...

U cannot INVEST in gold, gold does not generate any income returns...

U can only HOPE to buy cheap, and sell it off for profit IF later it does up.

Whereas with equities and bonds, even if value drops, you have dividends and interest incomes that, over time, should negate the value drop.
