Today when out to find Nikon D40, unsuccessful  None of the shop have stock. Just got dee Nikon D80 and Canon EOS400 only. So unlucky to find D40 at this time. If early three month sure got many of stock. So tired and unhappy today. Dunno when can get to learn from all sifu here...  |

I now also considering getting a D40. Since i love taking pics of cars in motorshows ands scenery pics, will a D40 suits for me? Pls advise.

travis_ckf: The D40 would do great. However do really know whats its like go to a camera shop and have look see at it. Check out my pics in the photo section or those other members here whom have D40s.
And if this passion fuels you then u can proceed with other lenses or higher spec nikon cameras. The D40 is a gem of a camera. = )))))

I using ixus currently, but i found its limitation that limits my photography. I just love to take shots of scenery, beaches and cars during motorshows FYI  |

from most reviews, the D40's kit lens is very good so compared to your ixus i think you should at least see improvement in sharpness & a definite improvement in high ISO shots.

sorry to hijack thread again... can D40 support Non-CPU Lenses???? was thinking of mounting D40 with an attractive Carl Zeiss lens with Nikon mount  |
