i dunno is "a little summer night music" or "a little night music"... sorry on that tongue.gif
but i think we should add the 2nd mvt also...
i will try to calculate the size of the recording i have first only then answer you
maybe will only answer you tomorrow coz i still dunno which piece i want to add...

about "Ode to Joy" in the Symphony No. 9.... i have the Allegro assai part only
else it will be the whole 25 minute of the 4th mvt... and it is space killer
but it is very very famous symphony, and is one of the masterpiece of Beethoven sad.gif

i have 40 free disc now...
so i think each person can give 1 cd only...
no more money for another 100pc cd... laugh.gif

btw, how about change the Chopin op64 to op69 and add Fantasie Impromptu??
Etude give up
Moonlight Sonata give up the 3rd mvt
Mozart Requiem also...

i juz have 29 of your 59 piece... sweat.gif
really need your help... notworthy.gif

Ok I completely understand your situation now. Since you're even giving the CD for free thats Good! Take your time, because what you'll want to do is to add the finest music into that 1 cd.

The first movement and second movement of Eine Kleine Nachmusik will do, since both are literally heard everywhere.

"Ode to joy", I got an exerp of the famous choral part, its a few minutes long so don't worry about that. its 3.21 minutes long and weighs 5.25mb I can and will send it to you if you want.

Right, onto Chopin. I'd say that the Minute waltz is more popular and its only >1 minute long which means its takes up little space compared to Fantasie Impromptu which should be bigger in size since it's longer.

Moonlight sonata, The 1st movement will do. nevermind the third, drop it.
Mozart's Dies Irae should be a small file too since its 1 minute or so, so I'd say it should still be ok to add it. (but you know me, I love Mozart.laugh.gif)

If you need any of the files just WLM me and I'd be glad to send you the files.

Hey If you run out of CDs i can spare some. laugh.gif

fantasie impromptu...... really need to drop?? but the Minute waltz can be add since that is didnt take many space
Dies Irae also can if still have space
"Ode to Joy" choral... if the mp3 is on the choral from start, then it will have no suspend... laugh.gif
but since that i have no other choice, will also need the extract "Ode to Joy" choral version
about the "Toccata and Fugue"... i have 2 version. 1 is about 10 minute and another is 2 minute. obviously the 2minute version cut alot... but since that i want to save space, i will use the 2 minute recording...

today got many works to do

oh ya!! The Swam Lake, Scene also a famous work!!!
add in?? juz 2 minute only

Romeo and Juliet Overture by Tchaikovsky used how much time??
the free recording found in classiccat is around 20minute!! (192kbps mp3)
i will download it and listen to decide is it worth to add in cd

i hope can burn all of those cd before March school holiday
so that they can enjoy the classical along the holiday!! smile.gif

another things is Ravel Bolero... although is famous, but take time around 15 minute... sweat.gif drop or add?? (189kbps, VBR... will convert it to CBR 160kbps)

You can add Fantasie Impromtu if you want, jus try to minimize the bitrate to save space, 128 minimum so it won't sound like crap. laugh.gif

Most people will only look for the choral part of "ode to joy" I'd say don't bother with the rest of it. (Eventhough i like to listen to the whole thing) we're trying to save space right? nod.gif

Go for the 2 minute excerp of Toccata and Fugue since you need all the space you can get so you can add even more mp3s. smile.gif + most people tend to get abit bored when they listen to long pieces.

I'll be around for a long time. long holiday for me! laugh.gif biggrin.gif

I'd say go for the swan lake scene, Since its part of a suite which means shorter time and less space taken.

Don't worry about the Romeo and juliet overture, I have the excerp of the love theme . only 1.93Mb biggrin.gif

Nice, I like this piece, it portrays pure sorrow just as Barber's Adagio for strings. Quite a good listen. smile.gif

The story behind that piece was really sorrowful. I think you could find it in Wikipedia. Wiki : Albinoni.

Ok here goes the story:

Albinoni was from a war torn country (can't remember which one Bosnia, Czech, one of those). He was a musician but in his country, there wasn't muych opportunity for music as the life span there was really short. People were hungry and impoverished. Therefore food was a priority.

One day, at the market quare, when the bakery was distributing food to the people in his area, the enemy started shelling (Mortar) the town, the crowd was quite big thus, many people were killed.

Albinoni's love for music made him took his cello (i think) and a chair, and he sat in the middle market square, amidst mortar fire, and played Adagio in G Minor. He channelled his sorrow and pain and suffering of his countrymen and his country into the song.

And miraculously, amidst the shelling, he was not hurt at all.

You were able to fit 70mp3 files into 1 cd? impressive. I think 70 is already alot of files, enough just burn it. or you could increase the bitrate of the mp3s to a higher bitrate say:320kb/s.

How much space do you have left in the cd?
