bro, wanna ask, what is your review on the spring / absorbers pairing you have there?

i hope you dont mind me asking where you bought the zc31s springs from?
*
I love it a lot. Brought my Swift to Sepang, couldn't be any happier.

For street driving, it may be a bit on the firm side, but taking corners means very little roll, if any at all.

But from the looks department, I still got that stock-ish ride height. good for traversing through our shitty roads, really.

Bought the springs from a friend. I'm pretty sure u can find the ZC31S springs easily from mudah or FB groups

Yup, had done so a few weeks ago plus replacing all the fluids and upgrading a few things too. Been daily driving it now and it's a very fun car! biggrin.gif

I am looking at 2nd hand Swift (not sport nor manual)
- What mechanical defects should I be looking out for apart from the standard service ?
- Is year 2012/13 onwards a good model to lookout for ? But OK to spend for the 2014/15 shape too, if the price is worthwhile. They are around RM40k right ?
- Does the non sport version give a good ride and comfortable long distance drive ? (for example KL to ipoh highway)
- I am all about fuel efficiency. Should I look for the 1.4, or 1.5 L model ?

My car for example, 1.4, pls note only my car.

Comfort 8/10
NVH 8/10
Fc rm50 ron95 /23litre+/ 300km city drive/close 350-380 highway. I travel to Ipoh by trunk road.

Car selling price is around there but keep an eye, ckd is cheaper, higher price ones are cbu, mine is cbu. Also, 2012 is year where a batch of cbu new models came in by last few weeks of the year for preview before launching it on subsequent year; so u will notice the difference of price on old/new model despite same manufacturing year. Once u google enough u will notice it.

I sat in CKD before, shut door feel, power window and noice not same with mine. Im happy getting this CBU at higher price. But this is not a judgement whether the car is good or not. Hahaha

Before buy my 1.4 on 2012, was told by salesman @Suzuki pj222, 1.5 is slight off powered at that time and fuel guzzer compared to same segment. Anyway im happy for 1.4, still get me point A to B. Not a speed chaser but can up 110 no problem, daily drive also no problem.

For a used car, do these checks

All front end bushes, including subframe bushes, stabilizer link bushes.

Steering rack may make noise when going over rough roads. Find a good mechanic to diagnose it, whether is it the rack that is faulty or the brake caliper pin that needs to be replaced.

The later model Swifts are fine, but the 1.4 models (ZC71/72) is lighter and it shows. Door close sound also less solid than the earlier 1.5 models (ZC21)

Yes, good enough. Just make sure your shocks have been replaced if they're old.

If fuel efficiency is what you want, get a Myvi instead. Swift models generally have just about average fuel economy. But if still want a Swift, the 1.4 might save a bit more than the 1.5

Brake caliper pin can get from here -> https://www.lelong.com.my/suzuki-swift-1-4-...9-02-Sale-P.htm

You can either DIY pasang or get a worskhop to pasang. Just dont pasang in the shop, wont be cheap.

For parts, u can check with these two groups

Oh btw, my suspension set up can be rather bumpy, even on relatively smooth roads.

which is why i'd prefer to pair it with sachs shocks? do you think it will be a better ride that way?

i still have no luck on the swift sport springs. sai heng autopart also out of stock at the moment.

The Swift Sport springs are firm by design, not sure how it'll respond when paired with Sachs shocks.

But if you don't care about all those, well, the handling is really enjoyable.
