Hi I'm new here...
Having a zc21s..
Is it possible to swap shock absorbers and spring (or without) with zc31s?
If do, what's the concern and possible cost?
Thank you  happy.gif

Sad we aren't able to get this model - wonder if there's a way to get it through Thailand, anyone knows the procedure for that? Of course the purchase will have to be in cash. >.<

swift 2015, it feel very noisy when driving on uneven road, and kinda feel like something loose ...
any part should I change? i heard it's because of the caliper pin...thanks...
*
i had that same issue. isolated to the caliper pins.
i think the steering rack 'tak' sound only happens when you turn your steering wheel but this sound that you are talking about, very evident when going on rough surface at maybe 30-50kmh speed? especially when going over the yellow strip on the road?

Try not to use water, it can potentially cause issues in the long term.

Coolant capacity is roughly 6.2 litres

I am using Toyota coolant, but green type.

Seeing that your Swift Sport already has rust, I would highly recommend getting your coolant system flushed soonest possible.
I changed to a set from maddriver

Paired with ZC31S springs brows.gif

bro, wanna ask, what is your review on the spring / absorbers pairing you have there?

i hope you dont mind me asking where you bought the zc31s springs from?

I love it a lot. Brought my Swift to Sepang, couldn't be any happier.

For street driving, it may be a bit on the firm side, but taking corners means very little roll, if any at all.

But from the looks department, I still got that stock-ish ride height. good for traversing through our shitty roads, really.

Bought the springs from a friend. I'm pretty sure u can find the ZC31S springs easily from mudah or FB groups

thanks bro!

For a used car, do these checks

All front end bushes, including subframe bushes, stabilizer link bushes.

Steering rack may make noise when going over rough roads. Find a good mechanic to diagnose it, whether is it the rack that is faulty or the brake caliper pin that needs to be replaced.

The later model Swifts are fine, but the 1.4 models (ZC71/72) is lighter and it shows. Door close sound also less solid than the earlier 1.5 models (ZC21)

Yes, good enough. Just make sure your shocks have been replaced if they're old.

If fuel efficiency is what you want, get a Myvi instead. Swift models generally have just about average fuel economy. But if still want a Swift, the 1.4 might save a bit more than the 1.5
*
bro, the brake caliper pins, where did you get yours changed? or do you know where i can change this. i have been having this issue since almost from the first year i bought my swift.

also, the swift sport springs, quite difficult to get in mudah. if you happen to know someone selling, may i ask you to recommend to me?

Brake caliper pin can get from here -> https://www.lelong.com.my/suzuki-swift-1-4-...9-02-Sale-P.htm

You can either DIY pasang or get a worskhop to pasang. Just dont pasang in the shop, wont be cheap.

For parts, u can check with these two groups

https://www.facebook.com/groups/495689013808129

https://www.facebook.com/groups/322911051134238

If not, can check with this guy and see if he has stock for the ZC31S springs

thanks bro, really appreciate this.

edit: btw, the guy selling the brake calipers is none other than JEENT. previously purchased air-cond cabin filter, and now i have place order / purchased the brake caliper pins from him already. small world

Oh btw, my suspension set up can be rather bumpy, even on relatively smooth roads.

which is why i'd prefer to pair it with sachs shocks? do you think it will be a better ride that way?

i still have no luck on the swift sport springs. sai heng autopart also out of stock at the moment.

Any recommended workship to service my aging suzuki swift in penang? 2007 model....
*
i have got the same model and i am sending mine to change the OCV tomorrow at platinum lifestyle in bagan.

it was leaking last time i checked but changing the o-ring only will not help. a known issue, according to suzuki service center. so i having the whole pump changed.
and also check for sort of steering rack sound, which i suspect is not. i had the brake pins changed recently.

slowly repairing all the things i need to repair for the car.
next should be the compressor because the air cond sucks especially in the afternoon and hot day.

try platinum lifestyle service center in bagan?

Hmm.. i stay in island...
Im facing aircond issue too...
But i just topup gases to make it cooler...

Btw, how much u paid to fix the leaking?

I replaced my rubber...[attachmentid=10079602]
*
I had to change the oil control valve because the leak was from there. Cost me rm410 for the ocv and the labor is rm50.

Also changed the absorber link, 2pcs at rm88 each. The sound which is similar to the steering rack sound gone. But I'll have to change the absorber mounting as well because it's been 10 years plus and the dampers and absorber covers are done.

Surprisingly my shocks are still ok, no leaks. Will continue to use the shocks by changing the absorber mounting, damper and cover. Glad could save a bit of money

could also be these:

1. absorber link, depends on age of car. mine was 10, so the absorber link bush is done for

2. absorber mounting, also depends on age of car.

3. brake caliper pins usually sound like rattling at speed of 20-40km/h on rough roads, over the yellow strips.

Yes, I realize the knocking sounds is much louder after I collect from SC for servicing. Then I go to SC to check again and they told me that is absorber broken.

The sound is like hit by steel rod when driving over road holes and bumps. bangwall.gif
*
my model is 07 and my absorbers are broken now too.
>10 years car, broken absorbers are kind of within expectation

but be careful of the sound you speak of, it might not even be the absorbers. could be:
- bar bush (the rubber wears out and when you go over bumpy roads, steel knocking on steel sound)
- the lower arms (? i think it's called that), there is a rubber damper and if that wears out, same sound
- absorber link (there's bush also on the bolts)

you can have these checked first.

hope these helps....

My stock bat if not mistaken 3 yrs.
Now on 2nd 3rd yr too, Panasonic dry batt...now u mention i shall be ready.
I don't have extra electronics installed.

Other question, my car idle goes up and down during cold start. Reason is just cold engine right? Any other cause of it?
*
how frequent? in terms of per minute.
does this happen every morning, every time you start the car?

i had a similar experience once, way back probably 6-7 years ago (mine is 07 model), and found out it was throttle body.
