Just wanted to check if its ok to undervolt a R9 290 refrernce using another bios?
Anyone can explain bit on this?

Why not just undervolt using Afterburner?
So far works fine.

First you need to know your card limit, flashing blindly without knowing the limit is not advisable. You better test it first by using MSI Afterburner, Sapphire Trixx or something similar. What BIOS do you plan to flash?

Just send your card to me, i'll take care of it really good.

It's better to use your own BIOS and mod it to have lower voltage but like Najmods posted, you better find your card limit first using software like MSI Afterburner.

Reviewer only reviewed first release/revision of the card. They don't review the later revision of the MSI Gaming card.

This is 2nd version of the msi 290x gaming card. As you can see it no longer use referenced board.



You can try take a peak through your card cooler if you can see the gold chokes.

Using leaked 15.200.1055 driver DLLs from the DLLs Database + Latest Intel Chipset, my system finally managed to broke 1M DrawCalls/Secs.




The best i could get previously was 950ST/900MT. Coming from Catalyst Omega 14.12 which i only get 650k for both ST & MT, the improvement is coming slowly... painfully slow.

Price actually not bad leh.
Considering that to install AIO CLC on GPU already min RM350 (RM100 bracket + RM250 AIO), plus this Fury X got warranty with that AIO. If install AIO yourself might void warranty.
Plus easier to clean than the 3 fan cooler with heatsink.

Just got myself a Powercolor R9 390 after a few months of waiting. Couldn't justify more expensive GPU since I play almost exclusively on 1080p. And that will stay that way for now.
