Unseen83 Can you run a benchmark before and after installing Catalyst 15.7 on your Fury X?

So how many of you have tested the 15.7? Any feedback?

Drop your comments on the official AMD thread should you face any issue. *That's because it's easier to track when it's over there.

I got around 3-5 fps increase in CPU bottlenecked City of Novigrad in The Witcher 3. Draw calls in DX11 is improved a lot.

Someone tested this:


Frame Rate Target Control is nice but it should be up to at least 144fps. 95fps is too low for the max limit.

current driver (15.15.1004-150619a-185617E).. i overclock GPU core 1,101Mhz/MEM 551Mhz.. not increase voltage(as far as i know.. maybe auto?) TEMP during load is MAX 59C silent(idle 30C or lower constant) all runing 4K MaX setting and all on.. z

Conclusion: 3Dmark minor increase(too minor) THEIF / Tomb raider in 4K Setting MAX!! all is on seem a Minot decrese in Min/average/ not on MAX.. eh look at pic u judge.. AMD you kinda fail or my Fury X just got downgrade from the update..

Tried several 390 and 390x BIOS on my 290x, interestingly these BIOS use higher voltage but give lower temperature.

how performance?

simple.. it's refresh Hawai XT not RE-brands.. as proof improve performance/Thermal.

WOW ! check out Game benchmark score Fury X Crossfire(4 way) vs GTX Titan/980 Ti Average FPS is 10-30Fps different(Metro LL/Tomb Raider) far cry 4 just 5-10Fps different...

Depend on which BIOS.
390 PCS+ BIOS gave me lowest temperature and lowest performance, Tri-X 390x gave me slightly better performance(2-3 fps) and 4c lower temperature.
MSI 390x gave me best performance, 12.5k GPU score in 3DMark at 1030/1250, 150x in Heaven 4.0 and 2c lower temp.
The XFX BIOS won't work, i can't install any driver and GPU-Z only show blanks.

None of these BIOSes overclock well for me which is expected.

No idea.. maybe these 390/390x BIOS have better load adjustment.

can the 390 bios work on my 290 ?

After upgrading to Win 10 TP and Catalyst 15.7 I can OC my A10 7850K iGPU to 1028MHz stable, even after extensive gaming period. Previously it couldn't exceed 100MHz or else the system would crash in Windows. Not sure what sorcery is this.

Remember when AMD posted that they were hiring programmers for driver development? Guess it is starting to produce results.

2way CFX/SLI scale much better than 3way CFX/SLI.
