Is that with latest driver? Maybe you should try one of the BIOS.
Mine default BIOS with stock clock usually GPU score around 12.1k-12.2k.

Mine only R9 290, cannot find the BIOS for Tri-X/Nitro 390

right.. i need to learn how to change bios..

I've seen a guy with 290 Tri-X flashed to 390x BIOS and it work just fine.

I'll just leave it for now.

I tested new Catalyst 15.7 on 3DMark11 Xtreme preset and I'm surprised to get exactly X5000 score! It usually in ballpark of X4300-X4500 scores which is way below X4900 of what my previous MSI GTX 970 Gaming score. Now it's the other way around. This is what I like about AMD, even though slow, the driver improved over time. Across many games I found it's much smoother as well.

Fury reviews out. 5-8% slower than Fury X, sounds like 290 & 290X all over again.
GTX980 is in an awkward price bracket now. Second hand sellers still asking for RM2k for their GTX980, wow

edit: Just tried out Frame Rate control, set to 60 fps, gaming on my R9 280x did not exceed 68 deg C for Watch Dogs Bad Blood

GTA V on the other hand, crashes even while the game loads. Gotta edit the settings xml to lower the settings bit

GTX 980 prices are still soaring but 2k for 2nd hand is ridiculous , Fury is still at its infant stages AMD can improve this chip more lotsa headroom there

Idealtech announced Sapphire R9 Fury Tri-X will cost you RM2,499. Not sure if GST inc. or not. Stock arrive in a couple of weeks and pretty limited availability.

Man i rather get Fury X for RM2.8k.

Because a nice 980Ti aftermarket can be had for 2.9k...
It's like 70% faster lol!
Not to mention brand new.
Also Fury is 2.4-2.5k brand new and faster.

hmm .. what about Sapphire R9 290X Vapor X OC 4Gb i ask RM1.05K is that reasonable.. ? i sold r9 290x Trix OC RM750.. still 60% ask for lower..(but got bombarded with msg.. and guy willing to drive far to do cod..)

ooh ya ka increase price , never checked gtx980 never liked that gpu since kena tipu 0.5gb memory on the 970 hahahaha

I ran Vsync on so capped at 60fps hahhah. I hate screen tearing, it felt less smooth.

Should be ok ba, one of the best 290X
