I got an old Elken tank RO too. Slow filling is due to clogged sediment, carbon and RO membrane cartridges. If pump is the problem, it can be replaced easily. Parts are plenty in Shopee or lzd.
Yes, concur with you that RO water taste "a bit sweet" than my other two non RO water filter systems. Perhaps it's due the water is near zero total dissolved solids.
*
Exactly, better too just pin point the problem and keep the old system. Change all the cartridges, change the pump, maybe change the tubes and run it for another 10 years.

Hi all, need some help with LG Puricare Water Filter.

The LG Puricare water filter has a water inlet and outlet meant for flushing water out right?

I realize my water filter outlet keeps on having water flow out (hear it from the sink outlet drain). Like literally non-stop for the whole day.

Even when powered OFF also it will keep like that. The only way to stop it is to close the water inlet so no water goes in.

When I dispense water, the flowing out stops for a while then continues back again. I called LG and they say it's supposed to do that, but want to ask whether any of you experience the same?

Takkan the water really keep flowing 24/7 right? and takkan when powered off also keep on draining water right?

Hmm no water should flow when the machine is not flushing...

How old is ur LG unit? It might be due to faulty valves in the machine hmm.gif

If got photo/video of ur kitchen setup then easier to see how ur plumbing was done and if there's any other possible cause of this

Can u Whatsapp them to me? I'll assist u to get LG to fix it

ironcrowz since you're LG agent, what is LG's product equivalent to SK Magic Hyper and Ria? (these are around rm69-79 a month with the servicing package. Tankless with hot/cold function.

Which is better between LG and SK Magic?

Hi bro, LG is better, 100% not bias, objective comparison as below:

1) Ria has no moving tap, water may spill out a bit due to height of water tap to ur cup
2) Ria has less preset volume (only 120 and 1000ml), LG 516 has more (120, 250, 500 and 1000), LG 518 even more canggih, while still have the 4 same preset volume options, can even control every 10ml between 120~1000ml
3) Ria may not have auto internal sterilisation function (no info on website), so can only keep itself clean every few months when technician visit
4) Ria internal pipings are most likely plastic, if it's SUS304 stainless steel like LG or Hyper, they'll probably advertise it as a strong selling point
5) Most importantly, they are charging u more, higher price for less compare to wat LG is giving

If compare to Hyper, it is much much better spec than Ria, but still:
1) Hyper has moving tap, but only manual by hand, LG's is auto every time u dispense water
2) Hyper I'm not sure whether it has internal sterilisation function or not, their website only says UV water outlet sterilisation every hour, LG has UV sterilisation for water tap every hour and auto internal piping sterilisation every week
3) And again, they are charging u more, pricier than LG

Hope it helps bro, Whatsapp me if u interested to see demo video of LG water purifiers notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

1. What is the difference between LG WD516AN / LG WD517AN / LG WD518AN?
2. What is the monthly rental pricing for these 3 above and how long is the contracted period?
3. I saw LG website stated that it is self-service filter even though you subbed to the monthly rental? Does it mean that visit every 4 months by LG service guy doesn't change the filter for me? What service do they provide then on home visits?
4. If the product rosak within the contracted period, is the fix free or how much is the average charge?
5. Once contracted period ended, the item becomes mine?

Don't mind me posting the questions u PM me over here so everyone can see

Q1. 517 is in fact an older model than 516 and 518 (don't ask me why, small potato like me can't question the decisions of our HQ sweat.gif ) So it's been phased out

So let's just focus on 516 and 518 biggrin.gif

They only have 3 differences, both model same price:
1) 518 has 10ml volume control (between 120~1000ml, i.e. 120, 130, 140, 150 all the way to 1000ml as u like), 516 can use the preset 120, 250, 500 and 1000ml only
2) 518 has favourite presets - Can set 3 favourite presets, (i.e. Preset A = 120ml 40°C say for baby formula, Preset B = 270ml 85°C for coffee, Preset C = 620ml normal temperature for water bottle etc.), 1 button to change both volume and temperature that you use most frequently
3) 518 water tap cannot move 180° horizontally like 516 can, due to it being square design, but can still be installed horizontally, just that once installed cannot move the tap as u like
516 water tap can move horizontally as desired, i always use vertical for cup then swing it to the right when i fill up my bottles/cooking pot

Q2. Monthly rental for self-service is RM60 or RM90, regular visit is RM80 or RM110 depend if u take 5 or 7 yrs contract

Q3. Our pricing can be confusing sry bout that notworthy.gif

If rental customer need to choose 2 things:
1) Choose 5 or 7 yrs contract
2) Choose self-service or regular visit

Self-service is very easy, also cheaper, so always recommended unless at home no one knows how to change filter (says elderly ppl, OKU etc.)

Personally i recommend 7 yrs self-service:
1) The machine is tankless, so don't need technician visit to clean the tank anyway, so LG designed the machine with self-service functions, customer just change the filter then the machine will flush the new filter automatically, also can clean it more frequently unlike technician only visit every few months
2) Cheaper than regular visit, even cheaper if take 7 yrs
3) 5 yrs contract is more expensive overall, cuz at 3rd year it gives u an option (to return the unit, keep using the unit or upgrade to a newer model).
But i think is unnecessary, we are alrd offering what LG Korea have except 1 model where they add voice control to 518, which i cant think of a scenario for it to be useful (mayb put a cup there and run far far away then shout "dispense water"? biggrin.gif )

Q4. Both filters and warranty are covered during the whole 5/7 yrs, if rosak, LG fix for u completely free, compressor warranty even longer at 10 yrs

Q5. Yes, after rental period ends, you own the machine and can continue use it, just buy filter package will do (but no more warranty ya)

Personally thinks alkaline water and hydrogen water are gimmicky and overpriced

A bit like feng shui, some believes it, some don't, no one ever 100% sure whether they works or not

Good points bro,

Just to add,
Jiksoo Hyper is using sus304 internal + UV light for output but no hot water sterilisation of internal piping available.

Also monthly rental for Hyper is RM79/month for quarterly visit + Filter over 7 years, which makes its overall cost to be about 6k+ range.

LG does self sterilisation on weekly basis and on demand as required on top of the hourly UV light sterilisation. Which can be viewed and control using the LGThinQ app.

Also, so far in the market, if I'm not mistaken up to now, only LG has inverter compressor for cold water. The rest are still using the non inverter compressor. And this translates to overall energy savings.

Hyper definitely not using inverter compressor.

That being said, do test and try out the water first before deciding on your water purifier. Design is part of the equation, but the water output which you drink should be the ultimate method to make a decision.

Is LG purecare good? Considering it? Or any other tankless one good? Is it even using RO filter?

I actually prefer 3M one but it has tanks.

The promo of RM50 for WD516AN is ended last year. Price is RM60 now at the moment.

If you dont need cold water, you still can get RM50 for WD216AN model which is without cold water
