Very regret buy LG water purifier. After 4 months water slow and not hot. Call 4 times in 2 weeks and no one can me back. Say will call but never call. Please don't buy LG even though it's price seem cheap. After sales service is terrible

Was about to confirm purchase of LG Puricare (7-year contract) until I read this post.

Any other good recommended water dispenser?

Don't mind the rental period, as it comes with warranty.

Others are as bad or worse. It really depends who services your unit. Read Coway or Cuckoo reviews. People are ok with the product, but give like 1 star for the service. I would not dismiss the purchase of an excellent product, chances are you will never even need the afterservice. Unless you go for a completely different product like undersink+dispenser, but even then, the dispenser is the weak part.

Is there any summary where I can read about the good & bad of Brand A vs Brand B etc?

I'm looking for undersink water filter + heater. Don't want to clutter my small countertop

So far I found Intrix One Tap costing RM3688 (outright purchase). Any other options available?

Looking for this as well, anybody using this?

Yep, one option from Taobao for the heater + filter can be bought separately. Comes out cheaper I believe, like 2x cheaper than Intrix. I think I shared a link like 2 pages ago, will find and share again.

Here is the link. I know says sold out, but comes back once in a while. Maybe you can find similar listing that is active.

Hi all,

not sure is this the correct thread to ask but I couldn't find any (updated) info about...

Coway Villaem II vs Cuckoo Icon

Basically I need to have WARM (not ambient) water apart from hot and cold, seems like these two provide the convenience.

However I'm not sure which one is better over another. Some high level info I got is that

Coway Villaem II
- relatively cheaper at Rm3900 (outright)
- RO
- no auto sterilization
- got child lock for hot water
- more temperature level

Cuckoo Icon
- More expensive at RM4200 (outright)
- mild alkaline (what's the difference VS RO? some people don't like RO)
- auto sterilization by scheduled (auto cleaning of tanks with sterilized water every week during midnight)
- no child lock for hot water

Anybody has more info and preference over which one is better?

First of all check if you will be ok with RO water. It has very special taste (lack of taste rather) and therefore may take few months to get used to, but some people can't and never like it. If tou are not ok with RO, then the choice is rather simple

1. Landed
2. 6 pax
3. Adults and senior (no kidney failure yet)
4. can you able to do some small DIY installing yourself or not? (like replacement filter yourself?) yes
6. Prefer one shot purchase. Less than 1k (The catridge needs to be affordable too)
7. do you own external water filter yet? Yes
8. Hot water function is not neccesary.
9. Preferably ones that don't need boilings.
10. I prefer counter-top installations (under sink needs to tinker a bit)

2. how many pax in your household? 2
3. got senior / babies / people with disease like kidney failure for example in the house? no kidney failure. baby once in a while, we will boil the water.
4. can you able to do some small DIY installing yourself or not? (like replacement filter yourself?) yes
5. how much u afford to installment per month for at least 5 years? 50/mth or 100/mth or 150/mth? one-off, no installment.

If you will never drink direct and always boil, then CTM-01 SE. I would not take Panasonic, it has this funny taste (maybe you will be ok with that). CTM-02 is of course better, if budget allows, get it instead.

Hi hestati, do you sell these?

Why CTM-02 is better? The specifications are the similar stated in the website.

No no, I am not a seller for either one. CTM-02 is better mainly because of the design and also, most probably, they are using better carbon for it (higher iodine number) though they never actually mention it anywhere. As far as I know you can get CTM-01 and later upgrade the cartridge to Easy Complete, which is probably the best solution on a toght budget. And if you are boiling anyway, then it is also a very reasonable solution.

On 3M's FM1500-B undersink water filter, the design looks like need to screw to the kitchen cabinet to hold the water filter in position inside the cabinet. Is it possible not to screw it to my kitchen cabinet? Can the cartridge stand on its own?

It doesn't even need to stand, you can lay it down if you want. Or use a piece of tape to attach it to the wall. A bit strange choice of a system though, what made you choose this particular 3M system?
