Hi M3 owners, I'll be getting my ride within 2 weeks time. May I get some advise on what to look out for when getting the new car? Any particular issue with the CKD version?

This could mean that the factory is now churning out meteor grey as the car colours are produced in batches. So others may not have long to wait.

But better call your SA in case he thinks no pressure from you means he can give to somebody else. laugh.gif

1. Check the body for scratches, scruffs or dents.

2. Check that the chassis no. and engine no. tally with what you have been given.

3. Check the odometer. Less than 100km is ok.

4. Check that the spare tyre and tools are there.

5. Make sure you have been given the owner's manual and the 2 service booklets.

Other than that I don't see what else. Some say should go through all the electrical devices one by one to make sure they work but if you find a fault you still have to take the car anyway and get them settled at the SC.

Hi M3 owners, has anyone tinted their car with Raytech before? I met their salesperson when I was settling payment for my car. Any good or bad comments have you heard about their tint?

It depends which branch you going to do your tint, i did mine at one of their branch and there are defects on the windscreen side, therefore i had to go back to re-tint but they offer higher grade one for free

Guys, is it advisable to pre-sign the loan documents even before the car has been allocated?

Yes, the loan can be signed first but the money won't be released until the car has arrived, you have paid the balance and it has been registered in your name.

Some dealers require you to pay when the car is allocated to you and arrived in PDI hence you have no chance to inspect the car first. If possible try to delay payment until the car has arrived in the shop and you can inspect the car. The car will be in PDI at most 3 days.

Of course once you pay the balance you can no longer reject the car.

At least they took responsibilty and helped you re-tint. Are you using the normal/security film? Do you mind to share the tint series that you took and how much did you pay for it? It would help give me an idea how much discount normally from the price on brochure.

Getting my Meteor Grey next week. Have paid the balance of my downpayment but now wish I wish I had inspected the car first as someone here suggested cos car already at HQ. unsure.gif

SA suggested some additional options like Central Lock, Glass Coating, Windshield and Flood Insurance.

Is the Central Lock worth getting? Quoted RM477 for it...

Hi,

My SA offered me a tint voucher for Solargard or LLumar at the showroom's panel shop nearby, but after checking out the shop and the products, and doing some homework, I went for RaytechCS.

The Raytech shop was new, with a very knowledgeable tauke. He demo'ed the tints and answered all my technical questions.

Convinced my SA to work together with that shop and got the voucher transferred. Made friends with the tauke and got a further discount biggrin.gif

I watched the installation and it was well done, by trained and careful technicians. The tauke then personally checked the results.

I am very pleased with the outcome, both the quality of the tint and the installation. No problems with smart-tag or GPS or my apartment entry card.
