Been looking for window tint while waiting for my m3.

Anyone knows if the OEM Front windshield has an existing tint? What's the existing VLT?

Wondering if I get tint with 70% VLT, might still not pass JPJ roadblock.

Getting my Meteor Grey next week. Have paid the balance of my downpayment but now wish I wish I had inspected the car first as someone here suggested cos car already at HQ. unsure.gif

SA suggested some additional options like Central Lock, Glass Coating, Windshield and Flood Insurance.

Is the Central Lock worth getting? Quoted RM477 for it...

What kind of central lock?

When you step on the brake, all the doors will automatically lock.

I don't think the brake autolock at RM477 is worth it. It's only worth about RM200 outside.

Just wait a while. More plug and play accessories are being released for Mazda 3 Skyactiv which won't void warranty. I'm waiting for an OEM alarm upgrade which incorporate autolock, confirmation sound when arming/disarming, starter kill switch and battery backup siren.

Thanks for the advice, bro kluseng. Sounds like a good idea. rclxms.gif

Im curious about how the central lock works. I understand that the driver will have to step on the brake to start the car. Since the central lock also works when the driver steps on the brake, does it mean that the cental lock will be activated when the driver starts the car? will the central lock system disrupts the keyless system?
*
M3 is already equipped with a manual central lock. This automatic central lock works by locking all the doors when you press the brake pedal after starting the car and driving. Then all the doors will unlock when you turn off the engine. This is how it works on my previous car.

that's for autolock, but how about auto unlock ? what will cause it to unlock automatically when car stops ?
or is the autolock only effective from outside ?
*
All doors unlock when you stop the engine.

I have centralised autolock in my other car and this is how it works.

I think that's how it's implemented in Japanese cars (which is kinda unsafe).

Automatic locking/unlocking on my DS3 works like this:-
- doors auto-lock when vehicle speed exceeds 20kmh
- locked doors continue to remain locked when parked (or stopped in any gear position) AND after engine switch-off. Because the doors use electronic locks, the doors only unlock automatically when you pull the inside handle to open the door (or in the event of an accident)
*
My SA told me that this optional automatic centralised lock (provided by GS Accessories) works once the brake pedal is pressed. Quoted me RM477 with GST for it. According to SA, you can get cheaper outside but that would void Mazda warranty.

There is no central lock button. I think he means the manual lock at driver's door.

Of course autolock using brake or gear won't solve this problem.
*
Sorry for confusion. M3 comes with manual centralised lock which is the button on the driver's side. To install an additional automatic centralised lock that activates upon pressing the brake costs RM477. Hope I'm clear now.

Go for the safelock which locks by putting the gear in D and unlock by putting the gear in P by EA Autoworks. It's plug and play and won't void your warranty.

Thanks for the tip. Will check it out.
