Just some questions,

Recently applied for Maybank 2 Gold Cards.

Last week i swipe petrol RM65 using amex in petronas. later i got sms saying "tq for using maybankard for RM200 at petrol station"

But when i check in my m2u account online, statement only shows rm65?

whats wrong here?

Im very new to credit card as this is my first one i applied.

it just blocked rm200 but only charge the exact after you finalise your pump, which is rm65 for your case.

It is normal for petrol, it is some sort like pre-authorized amount.
It will charge the actual on your bill.

Nothing to worry about.

Anyway, Maybank will have revision soon for 5% cash rebate on weekends, it will be only for dining effective 1st August.

Most of the pump will authorize RM200 when u pump petrol for credit card and it will charge the exact amount after u place the pump back to position. U can choose to preset the amount to avoid this RM200 default authorization amount.

For credit card, u may choose to leave it as u have enough credit limit than u want to use it.

But, for debit card, it is better to preset the amount before start pump to avoid the RM200 amount block in CASA even u pump RM10.

yea, i remember when i used my debit card, there is always a pre auth. rm200 charged.

means you need to have at least RM200 in your saving account in order for you to pump at petrol station with debit card

Dining? Not many accept AMEX lah.. Din Tai Fung doesn't, all those outside seafood restaurant don't. 5 star hotel got la. This card can CUT already. If you want dining 5%, better take HLB Mach Visa, at least accepted everywhere that takes card, unlike AMEX.

Already removed la since last Monday but Maybank CS and a lot of insider news already confirmed it will be for dining only.

I think I have answered this more than 10 times.
Time to update first post if it's still not yet.

by end of this week we should know the outcome since they said 21 days of notification.

Did mbb make any announcement on the 5x ppl entry for 21 days?

Thanks for sharing. I received one as well today. I do not see the list of winner in the Maybank Website and great that found the answer in this forum.

Oh! My insider news is they are having second thoughts and any decision will be made later, probably at the last minute. Anyway it is better for Maybank to make an official announcement , so that we can hope for the best.

I was told that they are still considering whether to :

1) Proceed with the implementation without further changes.
2) To delay the implementation to a later date.
3) To offer an additional category in addition to dining for cashback, possibly petrol or grocery!
