owners need to give more attention on the T & C stuffs...make sure no extra charges given on you...hoped the process is easy and understandable as one,two and three...

so I guess in the next few months, we will see tougher competition among telcos....hopefully the rates and rentals will go down further n even some freebies for staying put or switching...

They need to come out with a program that reward loyalty. The longer you stay the better they provide you. This will prevent jumping ship and also...
Ops...sound like our political situation now. Haha. |

QUOTE(yupio @ Aug 29 2008, 10:07 AM) MNP takes up to 5 days to process....wonder how long does it ACTUALLY take. And during that period of time, are we still able to use the old simcard with line still active or we will be out of reach during that time. While waiting, can we use the old sim card with the original service provider? |

Yes, while waiting, don't switch to your new Sim card first.

QUOTE(xplora @ Aug 29 2008, 11:18 AM) I'm quite surprised of this MNP procedure is quite different. It would be rather more competitive to request PAC code from your current provider since they can offer you better deal like retention price plans. if you are on contract, the porting will be rejected. This method is more simplified because you can go directly and change without having to wait on the phone to get the PAC code number. However, some people may just blindly give the RM25 because they don't know if they are still under contract. Added on August 29, 2008, 4:52 pm QUOTE(cucubud @ Aug 29 2008, 01:47 PM) you need to use the oldsim card until the new service provider sms to inform you that the new sim card is activated This post has been edited by jack7155: Aug 29 2008, 04:52 PM |

There is no impact to get the new prepaid startup pack after October.
They owner of the prepaid can decide which service provider they want after they bought the startup pack. No need to worry for that This post has been edited by myahsam: Aug 29 2008, 05:39 PM |

QUOTE(kupang @ Aug 29 2008, 05:26 PM) i wonder how a new prepaid startup pack will be sold come October, I doubt it. In other places where number portability has come into effect, the individual carriers are still allocated blocks of numbers by the numbering plan authority (or cooperative industry body). So numbers that have not been ported yet still fall into the ranges that "belong" to the issuing carrier.when MNP is implemented nationwide do we get to choose which prefix to use.. |

I guess for prepaid, the individual telco will still sell their package. Only after registering for one of the telco and later switch, me thinks!!
I don't think its possible for one to buy a prepaid and immediately choose telco rite!! Its not that their package and rates gonna be the same... |
