I think you can just port ahead while Maxis will probably refund you by chq in due course. or you just do this :

anyone Port to DiGi and get FREE gift or not ??
Such as umbrella ... haha

Call maxis just now, the number to call for enquires about deposit are
1300 821 123

Once the portability is successfully, upon receiving the last bill sent to
address & outstanding settle, a cheque will be sent within 2 months.

Hope this help those who have deposit with Telco.

SOX = School Of X, a new prepaid plan package introduced by Celcom for those under 18 years old. If it is above 18-26, it is known as UOX = University Of X. Everything is the same, just different name.

Not so easy bro.

After you ported, Maxis will use it to settle the outstanding balance for the final bill before returning the balance of whats remaining. But from what Maxis officer told me on the phone, it can takes up to 3months. So it could be a long wait.

RM75 is no big deal. I GOT RM300 DEPOSIT THERE!!!!!!!!

just call maxis (or better yet go to Maxis Centre) and ask to offset your account. and make sure u insist on having the cheque sent to you as soon as possible.

i've called maxis customer service before and it's said that the process can take as soon as 1-2 weeks. try calling the customer service yourself and you should get the same answer.

why u have to tell that u need have the account to be offset as soon as possible? some cases said that some centres are giving lame excuses when u return to the centre weeks later after making the request on reimbursement. guess what's the answer? "u haven't said before that u want to get the deposit amount urgently". WTF? this is a true story.

and if u haven't request the centre to get the amount of deposit back, it will take 3 months the soonest to receive the cheque. the reason? they will say that your account is still on system even after your termination of account (either terminate or porting mobile number), so it will take months (at least 3 months) for the system to automatically sort the terminated accounts and proceed for payment. it's my own experience previously (having my number terminated). i received the cheque 6 months after i terminated the account.

so remember this. call the customer service (or go to the centre) and ask the representative to offset your account immediately.

btw yup, maxis will use the amount to clear outstanding amount of your bill before u have ported to another telco. this also applies if u r just going to terminate the account (without intention of porting the number). and the remaining amount will be sent via cheque. obviously it's common sense, not that worth to tell "Maxis will use it to settle outstanding balance" bla bla bla...

My friend just got his RM300 deposit refunded ( credited to account ) by maxis. He just call 123 and ask the maxis customer care to refund. Maxis initially offered partial refund of RM200, trying to hold back RM100 deposit but my friend insisted full refund failing which he will have to port out to DIGi. Maxis was left with no choice but to refund the full amount to him. U can give a try to get your deposit refunded. But bear in mind that Maxis will try all means not to refund you the deposit and use delaying tactic to exhaust you. My friend took 3 weeks time and several follow up calls to get his deposit fully refunded.

after being with DiGi for 4 years, i received a SMS from they saying that whether i want to transfer my deposit of RM400 to my account, what a good deal. i think they just want to make life simple due to the new postpaid plan has no deposit required. DiGi think about their customers; but maxis in the other hand, if the customers no complain, they just act dont know

What a big contrast between Maxis And Digi. Imagine if average RM150 deposit ( RM75 to RM300 ) collected from 1 million ( Maxis claimed it has 10 million customers) customers, that will be a whopping RM150 million free loan for maxis. Just based on the min BLR of 6.75%, Maxis can save bank interest amounting to RM10 million a year.

Well, well my friend... actually Maxis didnt require so much deposit. But I think for all of the mobile companies also same tactics, if you want to activate international roaming, must pay extra deposit.

Really?

Lastime I top up my deposit up from RM100 just for that and they will increase your CL due to possible spike in term of usage.

Pay RM100 deposit lastime when register. I also dunno use for how long already. Maybe 6 years liao. Damn, all I ever received is that promo for phone discount that after discount still more expensive than outside price. Maxis never ceased to amaze me when Digi can offer points to redeem phone and credit.

those deposit was from my international roaming activation, due to the short period with DiGi postpaid (less than 2 months) and i required international roaming in hurry, so deposit are needed. if u were with DiGi postpaid for more than 6 months, the activation is free. but, now i dont know how it works
