bkk to pattaya is like 2-3 hours by car. but anyways i dont really understand... if it is such an inconvenience to go to pattaya then why on earth are you going? summore you are so rushed to make a plan when your trip is like 3-4 months away hehe.

just relax. you are going for a holiday right. so relax. dont need to stress out. i never plan any of my trips. just plan the flight and everything else is on the fly. you are going for vacation. arrive at the hotel, open a map and circle the places near to each other and you'll be set.

i dun get ur meanning panda!u mean i too rush in making my itenary...erm if i dun go pattaya then in bkk for 5 days vy boring der wor!I wunted to visit the noonch village mar...so thinking of it...cos my time is bee up n dwn..u know i reach on thu then if go pattaya 2 nofte then can'ihv enuf time to rush back to chatuchak!

hahaha... 5 days relaxing trip.. bangkok isn't enough for you....
if you really want to go to those typical area.....

Ayuthaya is good what.. for 1 day trip
take a first class train go..... and 3rd class back.....u pass by lotsa village...

i used to stay there.. for my studies.... and my job
but i don't speak thai.. haha.. just enough for me to bargain ....

Pattaya for me is like phuket.... loaded with tourist and drags.... ppl go there to seek for ladies....

haha yea i mean so fast you are planning your itenerary, your trip is so far away. hehe. it takes quite a long time to do things. but as kaze said maybe you can do the ayuthaya trip. my colleagues went with a tour. leave around 630 am and then arrive back at hotel at like 6-7pm. or maybe take the elephant ride thing and bamboo rafting. floating market also, that takes like 2-4 hours just to get to the place depending which one you go. so many things to do.

now waiting for free tickets or cheap tickets from AA, thinking to visit BK again. But this time will go shopping only, it's waste of time to visit temples, all r bout d same. Sure will go chatuchak, too many things to buy there & also aim for foods.

i went to chatuchak last week. was good fun. didnt have much time though and its as hot as i remember. but was thinking better go earliest possible. anyone know what time it opens?

last time i went, reach there 10:10am, already many ppl there, so maybe start at 10am or early. ya, very hot but if can grab cheap stuff, it worth

the shop starts to open around 7am....
by 8.. only 10% of the shop opens....

for me.. best time to go is 9am... less ppl...morning morning..
some ppl still opening their shop...

chatuchak... u go 10 shops.. 7 shops are selling the same items..
so u dun need to wait til all shops are open ....

erm now i think i'll book ground package cos i reli think travelling alone is bit of headache wit those transport thingy!!!summore my mum say vy ma fan wor...so difficult nd to think this n that!aai....she say book ground package is cheaper than we go ourself!what u guys thing bout tat?what to do in atthuya??any special place?

well if its your first trip to bkk or first trip overseas it will be better to get a tour package. esp for thailand. lots of people are out to con you in thailand. like:

"this place closed, its this holiday, blah blah. so go buy these gems over here with my friend the tuk tuk driver" hahahaha

ya most sellers in chatuchak sell similar items but u can still find unique one & very cheap. I bought a wooden carving buddha head board, asked in Melaka's Jonker street, it sells for RM400+ but I bought one in chatuchak, bigger than melaka one, bought at RM75 only. Also bought wooden photo frame, sell in Melaka RM36 for small one, bought in CTC big one for RM12. Also some clothes, U2 brand, good quality shirt but only RM20, dunno is fake or ori but looks class. Worth to visit CTC when go Thailand if u can stand hot & stuffy atmosphere.

saw the ice cream but didn't try. saw it sells in jonker street melaka too. i dunno where is 2nd hand section but just keep walking & turning & get lost sometimes, & sometimes keep repeating the route, d market is too big liao, we spent from 10am to 4pm but didn't cover all, so thinking to go again next time, mainly for shopping, no more site seeing.

it's just a normal icepop... with lotsa colouring..
i buy it cuz it looks so cool

ya, u will think to try ice cream or cold drinks there coz too hot liao when inside the stalls.

i like handcraft items especially related to buddha coz my house theme is zen + balineese style, need this type of deco.

we went silom market, lots of thing there but too expensive la compare to CTC.

we went papong to see tiger show, they told us no entry fee, just charge drinks but when went into there, they charge drinks for the girls plus tax ++, per person is RM100+, luckily I kept my money in pocket & left around RM100 in wallet, so show them my wallet, & luckily got 1 thai who can speak chinese sit beside us, he help to translate & they took my Rm100 for 2 persons. See naked girls play balloons, waited more than 30 minutes still no "couple show" so went off.

next time must watch pondan show & "men" show, my friend said all naked men perform on stage, never seen b4 but dunno bangkok got or not coz my frenz watch in pattaya.

its not my first trip to overseas...ive been to many other place aso..but i nvr backpack before la....

if you wan REAL backpack experience..
buy a guide book that suitable to you.... do some research...... and plan....

not take a guide tour...
