AirAsia X is ending operations on Kuala Lumpur – Tokyo Narita route, with last flight scheduled on 19AUG15. On the airline’s website, reservations for flights on/after 20AUG15 is no longer available to book.

The airline operates this route on daily basis during the month of August 2015.

D7528 KUL0045 – 0845NRT 330 D
D7529 NRT1000 – 1625KUL 330 D

For those who are affected, quickly go get travel insurance before airasia officially announce it. At least can get compensation.

Seems like I'm also affected by this (booked May 2016's flight at few months ago). I think I will wait for their mail then decide how to do...

Good thing is, they are restarting Chubu, since AA Japan is to be revamped based there (Mk 2), so the two may be related, compensating Narita for Chubu.

Hi peeps, I am going to Japan in September and had drew up a travelling plan for myself. But the problem is I planned to walk at 90% of the time so my question is:

1) Are there any apps for iphone that works like GPS but does not require wifi or data to guide me to the location from my current location?

2) Or at least any ways to make sure that I am in the correct direction?

Because my NESW is not very good you see I am afraid that while I thought I was walking to Ginsei I was actually walking all the way to Tokyo Dome and things like that happen.

Airasia insure doesn't cover route cancellation. They will just offer you either refund or choose another route

I just contacted AirAsia. They said so far so they haven't consider refund vmad.gif , only these 3 choices:

a) Re-route to Haneda Airport
b) From KL to Bangkok to Narita (seperate flight, no transit, means have to recheck-out, collect baggage, recheck-in, etc...)
c) Credit shell to your account to be used within 180 days

Very troublesome for me as
- Haneda -> very big changes in timing and my friends taking MAS so I wanted to sync up wit them
- Stop at Bangkok, I depart from Penang, so there's three separate flights for me rclxub.gif

Nope. She told me we can only expect an email in like, approximately one month before our flight shakehead.gif , I told them this is not acceptable. What if people didn't check online and didn't know about the cancellation? Then she said they will try their best but can't make any promise. yawn.gif

My flight is on December 23rd and Jan 1st.

I think no. Sorry, I remember her saying FOC but can't remember if that only applies for the KL-Bangkok-Narita route.

Actually, you can change the route now, providing that you are aware of the cancellation already, just use LiveChat to contact them. She just said that the email (aka official announcement to every one who booked a flight) will be sent one month before the flight.

But she told me to reply them via email after receiving their email.
I think I will call them once I decided which route is better for me.

So, have you made up your mind which route you will be taking?
When they called me on Tuesday, they never mention the Haneda route.

Nope. I have to discuss with my friend. All choices have huge cons for me. I would rather they refund me and I book MAS instead. mad.gif
