very long post.
had a brief look.
a lot of attractions you only allocated one hour. e.g. Kinkakuji in Kyoto at 2pm then 3pm you plan to go to another temple. or Kamakura big buddha at 12pm and Hase Temple at 1pm.
i think it is too rush because certain temples are very big. and you need to take into account that not all the temples are nearby each other. you may need to walk or take train.
my personal opinion is try to allocate more time for one temple in case you want to see more things in a temple.

- Visit Nara in the morning
- Back to Kyoto Nishiki Market for Lunch
- Yasaka Shrine, Kiyomizudera, Gion, Pontocho (By bicycle, since the owner of the house provide free bicycle for us)
- Is it recommended to squeeze Nijo Castle and Imperial Palace in this day?

since you are visiting Nara in the morning. i assume you will reach Kyoto after lunch. it is already very packed to visit the other shrines and Kiyomizudera. Kiyomizudera itself needs more than an hour to explore.
you do not have time to visit more attractions bearing in mind that a lot of temples close at 5pm or 6pm depending on the season.
you need to check the opening hours online.

Hi all.
I will be going to Tokyo early Nov. Really really wanted to visit Studio Ghibli! I had missed out the other round where I tried to purchase right after touch down in Tokyo but it was all sold out sad.gif
Anyone have any idea to pre-purchase the entrance tickets before hand?
It had been my wish to see the great ghibli museum smile.gif Wouldnt want to missed out the 2nd time..

That place is always sold out. Non-peak season, you'll be lucky to get a ticket for the following week, and we're talking weekdays, weekend is out of the question, need a month or 2 in advance. I'm going there around that time too. To both. Maybe I can help you get a ticket as well?

Hi guys, i'm travelling to Osaka soon. Just grabbing some info to travel from Osaka to Kyoto.

I'm staying around Namba area. From what I can gather, I can travel from Namba to Umeda (Midosuji Line) and then get on JR Kyoto Line to Kyoto station. Should be around 40 minutes.

Is this recommended? or are there other alternative suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

you can take JR to Kyoto directly from Namba. don't have to go to Umeda.

Thanks for your feedback.
Assuming I reach Kyoto at about 2.30 pm, I think I will just visit Kiyomizudera then lepak at Gion in the evening.

Which JR Line is that? According to the link I found, http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2363.html?aFROM=2157_2158 , I need to drop at Umeda if I were taking JR Kyoto line.

hi. sorry i should have been clearer with my statement. i wanted to say that instead of taking subway to Umeda and change to JR Line. you can actually take JR Line from Namba to Osaka Station and take JR Line to Kyoto.

so the route is:
From Namba Station take JR Osaka Loop Line to Osaka Station, change to JR Kyoto Line to Kyoto Station (30 minutes) - about 560yen

however, if your accommodation is nearer to subway instead of JR. you can follow your initial route.

sorry was not very clear previously.
