QUOTE(bbgoat @ Oct 2 2015, 10:03 AM) Thanks to you & @liyrth, @nbi !! Marketing success By the way, the HL Bank branch told us that they heard news that OPR may come down soon. For me, just listen listen only. Hard to say. But it does cause me to put in more to HL Bank yesterday for the 0.06% more FD vs other banks 4.2%. |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Oct 4 2015, 01:31 PM) diff bank may define 'activity' differently. I kena from PBB too. Have to go to do OTC withdrawal. They said anyone can do deposit. Need to do withdrawal to re-activate the acct. I kena 2 times from pbb. casa went into dormant. but I know I got interests credited into it. to reactivate it, I must make withdrawal over-the-counter. QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Oct 4 2015, 01:45 PM) Nope For HL Money Box, online transfer can re-activate the acct. If u have online banking, I wud suggest u perform 'inter bank transfer' transaction via IBFT (either outgoing or incoming) since the charges is FOC until 31/12/2015 |

For those depositors who can embrace risk, better goes for Maybank 12 mths product (non PIDM) instead of 3 mths promo as returns r higher

Just take some risk. Since I have some in MBSB already at 18 mth 4.5%, going for MBB at 12 mth 4.5% is even better in terms of return. The 3 mth one is meant for those looking at shorter term. But I think other banks have slightly better rates. For me most of the times I look for 12 mth or beyond. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Oct 4 2015, 10:07 PM |

Please share with us the outcome, usually at the point of signing, there should be some overlooked clauses that might be deal breaker. The 3 mth one is meant for those looking at shorter term. If it goes up, good for us. But the other way round, ha ha.if the bank goes kaput, all they need to do is just say: sorry, we just screwed up But since this is into MBB's Islamic subsidiary, this should provide some comfort instead of into bonds, equities etc. |
